The ogrelord's sequel also had a GBA port. I remembered playing it as a kid and liking it. It has an interesting switching mechanic that could lead to some cool TAS strategies. There's also a sorta WIP on YouTube: Link to video We got meme done.

Definitely, just tested it yesterday and I don't know why the author did that. Anyway, just refreshed my memory and I think I'll pick this up once I'm done with the other stuff. I can already tell other improvements are quite visible in the WIP, so this should be easier up until the 3rd stage in the game.

I started working on this a few days ago, here's how far I've gotten. Link to video Gonna redo the last level in the video due to enemies that are impossible to go through without damage boosting.

I think you can skip all cutscenes and text by just pressing Start. I see you don't do this all the time, I don't know why...

My WIP movie(s): WIP 001 (8 June 2023, 24:18.07), WIP 002 (1 July 2023, 21:28.50), #8442: RetroEdit's GBA Shrek 2 in 21:15.53 (17 July 2023) I recently resurrected this project I started in 2020. My current WIP is several minutes faster than the real time any% world record of 28:42 (leaderboard). With my WIP 002, this is pretty close to complete, but I still have a few seconds of potential time save (maybe less than a second) Turns out it was more than 12 seconds. See an up-to-date video at the submission link. Here's a time breakdown of WIP 002. InLevel measures starting with the first dialogue-skip Start press in the level and ending with the final dialogue-skip Start press. Unfortunately, I recently discovered that mGBA is about 17.9 seconds faster than real console, primarily due to having notably less lag in some levels, so I'm going to investigate it a bit. The Retimed column shows an estimate of what the time spent within each level would be on real console.

With losviken's permission, I've recreated his movie from this video and resynced it to 2.9.1. Movies: recreation (BizHawk 1.11.7), recreation resync (BizHawk 2.9.1) I created this for time comparison. My first WIP lost time, but my current WIP is notably ahead in each level. Some of the levels were accidentally outdated, but in a few cases, losviken's strategies inspired me and showed me possibilities that would have been difficult to find otherwise.

Great job so far! It's clear that this TAS really shines on levels where you control multiple characters at the same time. Looking forward to the final version and submission that's hopefully coming soon!
