COOL Comments

Whaddap bitchez n' niggas and wellcome to Nester's Funky Bowling yo!!! Ok, let's pause that for a bit... Nester's Funky Bowling is a Bowling game released on the Ultra failed Virtual Boy, the black sheep of all Nintendo's game systems. The game was released in 1996 by Nintendo, and it's notable for featuring the character of Nester, he comes from the Nintendo Power (RIP) magazine, being the star of his own comic strip: Howard & Nester. It features few modes, CHALLENGE, being the most viable to TAS. VBjin is surpisingly a comfortable emu to work with, maybe I'll TAS another game one day who knows... :P
Umm, where was I? Oh yeah memesOOOOOOO YEAAAH NESTER SWING DAT BALL YA GOT THERE SON TEACH THOSE PBA PLEBS WHOS BOSS

Thanks to the Magic of the new Ultra 3D Virtual Boy Emulator: VBjin3DHawk-rrPRO+ for New New Nintendo 3DS XL, we're able to take an extremely realistic picture of Nester throwing a shot in the best possible angle. Admire it now! (THIS IS TOTALLY NOT A FAKE SCREENSHOT FROM A FAKE AF LEAK FOR SMASH BROS. FOR WII U NO NOT AT ALL)
Special tnx to Nester for being the greatest bowler in the galaxy, and YOU 4 watching! (im so sorry)

Fog Radical dude!
Fog: Updating the submission with a 3 second improvement movie file.
Fog: Good run! However, it's a sports game (which is ineligible for Vault), and was not entertaining enough for Moons. Rejecting.
Noxxa: Unrejecting for consideration of publication to the Vault following a rule change regarding sports games.
Fog: Re-judging.

*looks through Super Mario World Special level names* Gnarly! Those clever pink-and-black spare animations remind me of bowling in the '90s and '00s. Yes vote for memories.

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/30017420026125768 The TAS has been improved by 3 seconds. Can somebody please replace the input file with this one? Thanks!

Can somebody please tell me a bit more the rulesets around sports games and how some of them can be vaulted? Because I'm still very confused... and kind of sad.

I'm not a judge, but I'll try. Might have some errors. Ask yourself a question: Does the sport game(or movie) have a goal other than ending a timer or having a perfect score? If not, it can't be published to vault. If yes,ask yourself a second question: Is the goal an arbitrary one? If not, it could be published. Sport games, generally, doesn't have the flexibility of other games since they are linked to a timer: the game end when the timer ends. As such, they can't be vaulted. One could argue that to be the fatest possible require skills since you need to minimizing cutscenes(scorings, etc.), but it's deemed as unvaultable. This include Basket-ball, European Football and all other games relied to timers. To workaround that, these sports game will require a huge entertainment factor such as playarounds(R.B.I. for example), glitch demonstration, etc.(Example: [1438] SNES International Superstar Soccer Deluxe "playaround" by Marcokarty in 15:24.38 Some has it like golf, mini putt and even billiard... Surely others such as Tennis. You need to put the ball from A to B in the fastest way possible and is not dependent on a timer. As such, these could be vaulted.[1565] NES Lunar Pool by Bisqwit in 23:47.52 Good luck redoing those shots without tools.(One could argue that it's like having a perfect score, but you can alter a lot of stuff so you get the fastest outcome, so it's more than having a perfect score) However, some sports game include a kind of "story mode" such as Punch out or dodgeball which there is opponents to face in a order. You can beat those in a timely fashion.(Unless it's a set of game with all a fixed timer like 5 games of basketball, I doubt it would be publishable). Example: [742] NES Super Dodge Ball by Dasrik in 05:47.16 I see Bowling TASes as a matter of perfecting timing in order to have a perfect score, like a puzzle. One just need to find the right angle and power. I think it was deemed "too simple". Think of it like run right for justice games where all you could do is hold "A"... Or board games.

The TAS plays on "Challenge" which arranges the pins to be set up for you to collect a spare throughout each frame. There is a 7-10 split which was given to dekutony, and he was able to set up and get that spare, which was the only entertaining thing in this TAS.

I'd argue that it's arbitrary. But that's a case of having a perfect score. :/
