Wait, so this is actually an improvement? For such a short run, with a number of previous improvements, an improvement of around 1.5 seconds is a big deal! I'm surprised it's only 60 rerecords listed too. Exposure, can you give any details about the improvement? If you cannot write English, let us know what your native language is, and maybe someone can help you translate.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

Found something. This is an improvement but not an improvement at the same time. It doesn't use player 2 to help speed up loading the next level Also at one point during the 1 player version is actually 2 frames slow. What do I mean? Stay tuned.

So you’re basically saying the published run uses 2P thinking it’d be faster but it’s actually slower?

What I'm saying is that P2 is helpful.

Exposure, on behalf of TASVideos I apologize for the way your run was essentially undercut by another member and obsoleted before you got a chance to have yours even judged. Some people are just extremely self-centered and take no regard toward the consideration of others. I sincerely hope this doesn't reflect poorly on every other member of the community.

As much as I would like to agree with you, he reflected himself poorly by submitting with absolutely no information and not posting back since submission. I appreciate newcomers and their attempts but this was sad to see get posted. Try harder next time Exposure and good luck!

Judging from the game, the lack of information, and Mister's post in this thread, I'm assuming that exposure is a Japanese runner with no knowledge of English. A lot of low-content submission texts on good runs tend to come from non-English speakers who either don't realize what's being asked of them or are unable to adequately explain themselves in English. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if exposure was driven away by the """""improvement""""" run on the workbench, since that's a legitimate poor reflection of character.
TASvideos Admin and acting Senior Judge 💙 Currently unable to dedicate a lot of time to the site, taking care of family. Now infrequently posting on Bluesky
