Anyway, back on topic (sorry...), I noticed that in CofMC, if you haven't hit the Metal Cap switch, you can triple jump on it and land in the water. You won't get any message until you step on dry land again. A well aimed triple jump (and ground-stomp in midair) can get you enough force to land directly on the star if you already got the 8 red coins.

You know, you should've introduced yourself in the General section of TASVideos. Don't spam up this topic, as it has nothing to do with introductions.

Funny, I clearly remember Mr_Robertz_Z introducing himself without getting flamed at.

How is that a flame? And mr_robert_z actually had content to his post.

Requesting a split on this topic to put it back on track.

Okay, then... Back to SM64, what would be the fastest way to get MIPS 2? From where FODA left off, MIPS 2 is directly in front of Mario. If he did a long jump, he could catch him before he went past the area leading to HMC.

Practice it in the endless stairway leading to the final Bowser. As long as you have less than 70 stars, you have infinite room to try it out (this is how I learned to do it). When you make it to the top, you'll be a master, young padawan. As far as getting into Jolly Roger Bay, don't bother. There's not enough room for a normal human being to make it.

71 stars WIP total time: 1 hour 03 minutes slot 8 savestate from exiting Lethal Lava Land (rapidshare) comments are welcome. i don't think the zipping part can be done any better, because of 3 factors: - the velocity at the elevator needs to be so high in order to get through the wall - the angle at the elevator can't be too high, or else mario falls to the side of the elevator before going through the wall. - there are a lot of pits flying in the air after i launch from the elevator (from the sections above). if mario touches any of them, it's instant death.

Yay! I waited all summer for this. Too bad it was over in like, 3 minutes. Awesome job.

In "watch for falling rocks" (the one with the jump kick to the ledge), isnt it faster to slide down the slope and jump over the middle pit as opposed to going around? I saw a video of that around here somewhere and it looked pretty fast. The first zipping looked like it could have gone farther but I trust from your statement you investigated that. I really liked the metal cap star :)
