Yep, we were gonna do that anyway when we redid everything from JRB, but thanks a lot anyway. And in WF, we're getting the Cage star at the end.

No, the reason he gets the star is because he grabs onto the ledge for a frame, if you dive, that won't happen unfortunately.

How about a long jump from the gray falling blocks to the star? You can grab ledges with wall-jumps, right?

It's possible, but it would have to be absolutely perfectly aimed.

I just thought of something... In the JRB room, there's an aquarium on the left of the painting (when facing it) that you can get into by BLJing against the wall. I've seen a video of this a little while ago. Maybe you could use the spot to BLJ and get enough speed to get out of the room and into another level faster than by re-entering the bonus level, exiting to the lobby then doing the lobby glitch. I hope I made myself clear, if not I'll try to get the video but since it's been ages, I'm not sure I can find it again PS: Awesome all coin TAS so far, nice work =)

You mean this? If so, there's not much of a point because it's very slow and almost impossible to get any speed at all; exiting the course is much faster. BTW, it's also possible (and somewhat less time consuming) to get into the Aquarium with the Lobby Glitch.

Do to poor planning (on my part, it won't happen again), we accidentally got three stars that we pretty much have absolutely no use for. Anyway, we've redone WF (we couldn't hex edit because the message at the beginning kept desynching it), and TotWC, PSS, and CCM are hexed back in.

Yes, you can shoot through it. No, that doesn't let you reach the upper floor. The loading of the upper floor only happens when the door goes through the opening animation (which also includes the key animation if it's the first time through the door). Any other way of getting on the other side without a door-opening animation is no good.

So, lets break down the options that would have to be availible in order to get <16 stars (no particular order):
  1. Find a way in general to get upstairs without the key
  2. Find a way to trick the game into thinking you have the key
  3. Trick the game into loading upstairs
  4. Trick the game into loading the final bowser battle/course
  5. Get into Bowser 2 without the DDD star (15 Star run)
  6. Get behind the DDD door without mips
Anything I've missed?

well as I said before: I think the only way to do this, is to lobbyglitch into bowser 1, go downstairs, try to search a slope anywhere around there (the lowest floor is only conected with normal doors) and enter the 30-star door. do the bard bowsers sub star and voila: 1 star run

Or you can skip bowser 1 and find a way to open the door outside while the water is still there. You'd still have to figure how to get through bowser 2 door.

If you have enough speed, you don't even need bowser's sub star and voila: 0 star run.
