No, because that's a very stupid and unneeded category.

So is this topic off-topic enough to derail it yet?

I didn't have anything off-topic in mind.

I do, but I don't know if I should go ahead with it or not.

Well at this point, this will certainly be moved, if not locked. So go for it!

Seriously though djs, In general, the TASing community is not big on creating seperate categories for games. At least nowhere near as big as the speedrunning community, where you'll often find maybe 3-4 categories for popular games. The general philosophy here is that most of the time, the fastest category is the only needed category. Because of this, it is probably unlikely you'll find someone willing to commit to a project like this.

Some have 16! However, I don't think it's cool to be as dismissive as to say that a more 'traditional' run of OoT, which some people have expressed interest in, is "stupid".

The way I interpret the "that's" in your statement indicates that it is a fact. I'd recommend typing the next time: In my opinion.

I've made an important discovery in the Deku Tree I'll post a vid of it Tommorow, it saves roughly 30 seconds.

AKA, have you ever noticed that your signature fails at its stated purpose?

Can you at least explain what it does?

Probably managed to use a web skulltula to boost through the wall into the basement.

You mean the skulltula next to the map chest -> the entrance to Gohma? That would save more than 30 seconds.

You'd still need the slingshot, though.

we'll have to wait and see what it is, but I bet if it's good enough it might make Guano pull out his hair

This is why it is useless for me to continue now :( I'd be 20 minutes away from the Deku Tree right now and then all of a sudden DEKU TREE DISCOVERY! haha, ill just sit back and relax for a while on this run because I dont want to get too far without discoveries. I want this run to be my final.

If you aren't busy working on other TAS projects at the moment, may I suggest giving Majora's Mask a try? If you liked OoT, you'll definitely enjoy this one. MM runs very well on Project64, too.

Is the route even fully decided upon yet? If so, can I get a link/rundown of it? e: Also, running MM right now would seem to be futile, since the group of super trick finders hasn't bothered to give MM the attention that they're giving OoT.

Yes, the route has been finalized, and much more so than that for OoT. Unlike OoT, MM has pretty much been broken to its limits, and I can't see any room left for major sequence breaks in a minimalist run. Temples are visited in the game-intended order.

I'm true to my word. Now to see how pissed offf Guano is for me finding this trick. It'll be a pain trying to optimize this trick. If this is done in a regular speedrun then I'd advise using the technique that I use in the vid. This is what makes OoTers go nuts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8e7-7Lb3wgU
