I wont lose time because Ill save time not backtracking to the Lake. However, I dont have any bombs to kill Armos in the Spirit Temple. Any suggestions. EDIT: The only thing I found is that I have to pick up Deku Nuts.

Whats the difference between hard and soft resets. When will an emulator with slow down and maybe even manual angle input e.g. 220 degrees. So without having watched Guamo's run I take it he's got as far as the Spirit. Is it possible to get debug code for this game so I could put a fake armos statue in the main entrance room of the Spirit so I can test if its possible to glitch through the walls. If its possible then Adult Link could perform this on a live armos and avoid ever completing the Spirit as a child because all we'd do is get the Requiem as a child. Edit: Can't anyone convert the files into a format so it can be run of Windows Media Player or other player applications.

Yeah, but what wants to spend the time encoding a fraction of a test run?

Ok, savestates for all! I was bored so I made several (the one DK64 provided won't work on this latest WIP because Guano redid that bit. As well as the owl B text-skipping goodness I see). These work for me, but I've no idea if they'll work for the rest of you. Let me know if they do. They're hosted on a fast server anyway so it's not too big a waste of time to try. So far I cannot get a bat to drop a Deku Nut, if you seem to be able to get one to drop one, find out at what frame and with what you hit the bat with. The only thing I found out is crawling through the next hole and hitting the box to get a deku nut.

Very well done, Guano! Can someone knowledgeable please put up the things that need to be done in ST? http://mwlin.freehostia.com/wiki/index.php?title=Spirit_Temple&action=edit Here's what I'm aware of: Kazooie's shortcuts FierceLinkMaster's Beamos shortcut Get 20 Rupees from Armos in Callout 2 Before ST, you need to exit and learn the RS before going back in. I expect that Segment One will be done in just under 35 minutes. Segment Three is about 15 minutes, leaving 70 minutes to do all of Segment Two if we're aiming for under two hours. Maybe it's possible after all... @Andypro - Savestates work perfectly. Thanks.

The first and last one work. It took me a while to figure out why my old one wasn't working. I'm taking it down now. Thanks a bunch. Looking good so far :).

Ha, found it, a jump slash with a deku stick destroys one.

Yeah, sticks are valuable when you're trying to save time, huh?

Heh, problem solved. Just jumpslash with a Deku stick, then use a power-crouch stab to kill the armos. It takes a little longer, but it saves a stick. :)

That still uses up the first stick... Although I forget how much HP those things have, so maybe that speeds it up enough to make up for time spent getting a stick. Don't Armoses like to explode on their own?

Sounds like 4 HP to me. 1 stick jumpslash = 4 damage

You don't lose a stick if you just jumpslash with it. Just jumpslash nothing. Then use the power-crouch stab to kill the armos. 1 stick saved.

Oh, I didn't know that trick worked even if you didn't hit anything. Well great then.

Jump attack with Kokiri Sword = 2 damage Power crouch stab = 2 damage Total = 4 damage The first jump attack has to hit.

Oh yeah, does anyone know why GuanoBowl's new movie pops up error boxes all throughout the part where he leaves Kokiri Forest? I just thought of that thanks to JXQ's post...

That doesn't happen to me... I had some problems (desync) with the version of mupen rerecording i had and downloaded the one mentioned in the FAQs (version 8 i think) and it works fine. BTW, great work so far. I'm not certain, but I could've sworn I've played a version of OoT where when you save it asks whether you want to continue, and if you said no you'd go back to the title screen... Trying my version on the n64 though didn't have it so i'm not too sure now...

Im not positive about this, but you know the first of the deku shooter guys you fight? The one in the deku tree that opens up the door to get the slingshot. Instead of using the shield and bouncing the deku nut back at him, do a jump-slash forward at him as soon as he shoots the nut. Youll hit him and at the same time be in front of him. You take damage because you chop through the nut and it hits you, but i think its faster. Edit: Oh, nvm. It knocks you back to get hit by the nut. On the normal deku shooters, it doesnt, but i guess it does on the scrubs. :(. Damn.

Sweet man, thanks for the information. Its better than wasting a stick. May not be quite as fast in the short run but in the long run it will be very nice having 3 sticks still.

In the room with the armos you have to kill (in Spirit), along with some bats, the best strategy will be to take out the armos first, then take out the bats while waiting for the armos to explode. You might be doing this already, but I'm saying it just in case. ;)

Yeah, what I have is me touching the armos, then turning around and killing 2 bats with 1 sword swipe, then when he stops moving, ill attack him and then kill the bats. EDIT: Unless you can get the armos without having to wait for him to jump a few times and then stop. Can you?

Here's my best ever completion time of Kokiri Forest. I don't know what I do that would be much different from Guamo, but here's my tactics for Kokiri Forest. From gaining control to activating Hyrule scene I took roughly 16:50. This also shows how feeble humans are compared to TAS runners. Sorry about the quality it was a heavilly compressed file. http://files.filefront.com/zelda_beta_run1avi/;5045393;;/fileinfo.html
