I had that same problem, then I upgraded to a newer version of jabo's video plugin and it worked fine. The movie file tells you what plugins were used when you load it. Try to match those, and remember to check raw data, and probably make sure there's no expansion/rumble pack.

Um, no? .v64 is a perfectly valid extension for N64 roms.

Oh, okay. But is there a preference for byteswapping or not byteswapping?

Well, I'm extremely new to M64 files, so I'm not sure what a desynch is (I used to use the AVIs) but if I had to guess it'd be this. After Guano retrieves the Kokiri Sword, he pauses it to equip it, but he never ends up equipping it. And then he does random movements around that area, so I'm guessing the input got messed up or something. Do you know why? How can I fix this? Thank you in advance.
I remember that when I recorded my testrun that would sometimes happen with my own file on the computer I recorded it on. This is obviously different since it works for other people, but I just wanted to comment about how weird that pause can be. As for how to fix it, well, I don't really know what else you can do besides all the other things that have been mentioned.

It only works if I have Raw Data off. Looks very nice so far, though. Oh, actually desynced much later; after getting into the castle.

Too bad you'll be using the 1.0 rom, I can't find that anywhere. :(

With raw data turned off, it desynced as soon as he gained control of link (runs into the wall in his own house). With raw data turned on, he makes it out of the house but then runs around underneath the tree the house is sitting on. In both these cases, I had turbo'd through the intro though, so that might be contributing. I've also had problems in the past when running different resolutions (e.g. coolbumpty's test run would desync at higher resolutions for some reason).

Again, check when you load the movie and use the same plugins and rom version as he uses. 1.2 I believe, Jabo's video 8 something or other I think.

I think probably the best decision plugin wise would be to use glN64, as it should do cross platform decently and has no ugly whitescreen when you pause (aslong as you turn on hardware framebuffer or something), even though it still has the lag *viewer entertainment yo*.

How much forward planing has been done for this game. In terms of getting ruppee's and deku Sticks. You must get at least 7 sticks in the child adventure if you are to complete it efficently. Unless you're gonna be insane enough to get a poe boost in the graveyard then you'll need 10 ruppee's for the bean. I tested on emulator and it is possible to be boosted by the poe onto the higher level where the crate is so Shadow Early can be done. It would drive the runner insane to do because you have to get the poe to attack you at an angle , while your at the peak of a sword jump. Is this game definitley going to use save warps to assist in getting a faster time.

Until resets find a way into the movie files, save warps can't be used. Therefore, to solve the problem with returning from the Oasis, I'm going to suggest that we get the Bolero of Fire to warp back from.

Okay, I am almost done with my new run and it is very well done in my opinion. Ill include a link to the v1.0 game in a fileshare server as well as my m64 settings.

How about you keep quiet, Zurreco? Every post you make reveals how ignorant you are about this whole run.

Yeah Guano, linking to roms on the forum is against the forum rules, which you supposedly read before signing up and/or posting. So please don't because we really like your run so far and don't want to see you get banned, heh! To those experiencing desynchs: Make sure you're running the latest Mupen (0.5 rerecording 8 I believe?). To those looking for roms, they're really not hard to find. As the help file for the dreamcast emu Chankast says, "Google is your friend." ;)

"Get the Bolero of Fire to warp back from" - No. "You need to get heart pieces for underwater segments" - No. We skip Fire and Water temples. "If you have such a low bandwidth that you need to split up 100KB files into 20KB segments..." - the segments are about 30 KB per minute. The files will be much bigger than 100 KB, and they should be split up per my instructions. "Savewarps aren't allowed" - I don't see where the rules say that. The optimal route is what will be used...and if that involves, savewarping, so be it.

Yeah, linking to ROMs is a bad thing. It brings heat down on this site if they allow it. I'm sure everyone here wouldn't want that. If you REALLY need a ROM go ahead and ask. You might get a private message from someone. But you should, at first, check Google. But, under no circumstances, should anyone here post a link to a ROM. It's against this sites ToS for one... and it's just plain stupid to do.

I wont link the rom but here is my run so far. So i guess find v1.0 yourself ;) http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1100/THE%20LEGEND%20OF%20ZELDA%20%28USA%29.m64 I save a stick by swinging my sword after burning the 2nd web and also saved one on Queen Gohma for later in the game, so I have 3 sticks finishing boss 1!

Um, could you start assigning version numbers to the WIPs? It's easier to archive them if you don't have to rename them first.

The file GuanoBowl posted above is 261KB, when compressed with zip, it is 6. You don't need to worry about splitting files to save bandwidth...
