Just mentioning, if we could get onto Dondongo's head at the start of the dungeon then we'd be able to skip straight to the bomb bag. Although I don't see a way of doing it unless we have loads of bombchus.

Two Questions about Master Quest: -Is the Slingshot Skippable (and is it practical to skip it)? -and do you need to do RBA on the letter in a bottle before you give it to Kind Zora or is there a different C item that gives arrows? Thanks

I'm pretty sure getting caught in the Gerudo Fortress as a child is a bad idea.
Why is that? It's a nice little warp if you're going to Lake Hylia. ;)
I was under the impression that it crashed the game.

-No, It's absolutely needed in Jabu Jabu. -Letter in the Bottle is the ONLY item, so we must do RBA before King Zora.

at least for the normal quest I read you could use bombs for the jabu trigers. The first switch in the spirit temple you can reach by going across on the green bubble. However, the switch which brings down the bombchus can't be reached. That was the only reason you needed the slingshot for, but the time it would save is about the same as the time it takes to get. Can someone please answer my questions about where you can get bombs? This is important to know so the right number of SSes are used.

Thinking about it now, the only real prevention to skipping the slingshot is the bombchu switch in the Spirit, there has to be a quick way to activate it without the slingshot. This is in reference to OoT.

OK, two more Master Quest questions, and I'm done, I promise :) -What is the fastest way to get a fairy to do the Jabu Jabu slimy thing skip? -How do you do the Trials Skip without the Hover Boots since the moveable Armos are gone? Thanks in advance once again.

it could be activated with the boomerang, but you would probably lose tons of time by doing jabujabu first. it only takes a couple of seconds to take the slingshot.... i don't know anynthing bout this game

Read around and you'd notice that SwordlessLink is working on OoT, and is a good deal faster than Guano and I where he's at in the Deku tree. It might be abel to go sub 1:40, Guano and I used sub 1:45 as a projected goal, but who knows.

I think I may have answered one of my own Master Quest questions, but once again it only leads to another. In Lake Hylia, next to the scarecrows, are three butterflies that when touched with the tip of a deku stick turn into fairies. I've only managed to pull this off once (seems to be only a few pixels worth of positioning that work) but the fairy immediately touched me and I couldn't bottle it for Jabu Jabu. Has anyone ever replicated this so that they could catch the fairy? if so I could catch a bug in the kakariko bottle, use the bottle duplication glitch to turn my fairy ocarina into a bottle (don't need to play anything until you get the ocarina of time) Touch a fairy with a stick, bottle my fairy and be on my merry way. Now all I need to figure out is Master Quest trials skip without hover boots. Thanks.

If the games are different, should the thread split in two ?

wow, I remembered reading about this somewhere when I started playing the game, but I could never reproduce it... I thought it was some beta or fake thing!

Yeah, it's really difficult, took me about 10 minutes just standing there waiting or tiptoeing along, then, sure enough, as soon as the fairy appeared it touched me. Oh well, I'll keep trying.

Off topic but... Something similar happens with the butterflies in Mario64 too IIRC. Think it was a small signature of Nintendo at the time.

Ironically (or maybe not so ironically) I started playing Super Mario Galaxy a few days ago, and when I saw the butterflies in the yellow flower patches, I wondered if I could get a 1 up somehow. This reminded me of having a butterfly land on Link's Deku stick to get a fairy.

Sorry if this is not in the right forum, I didn't know where to put this. However, nonetheless, I have a request, so long as anybody is interested. I would be interested in seeing a speedrun of The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time that gets all the items, including gold spiders. I don't actually expect anyone to be interested in making said speedrun, but if anyone is, I would appreciate it.

There is already the 100% speedrun segments by Yautja Elder over at SDA. if you have already checked that out, many months ago I once felt like doing 100% OoT but for various reasons decided not to. It's just such a mammoth task that is made difficult by desynchs, various different routes that need testing, and the fact that the record reset mupen is not fully accepted. Plus, when you watch the speedrun there is a lot of movie time where not much is happening. A 5+ hour movie with that is a major putoff for many people.

Yeah, I realize. I'm not exactly sure where you're talking about for the speedrun segments, but I'll try to find it. A link would be appreciated, though.

Could anyone give me a savestate for MQ with Spirit and Shadow medallions, preferrably with light arrows and the bridge already in place, but without any of Ganon's Castle completed? If not, it won't take too long to get there, but if someone already has a state it would certainly save me time.

Seriously, 100% is a really bad idea. There is too many questionable methods and debates as to what exactly is 100%. The only other catagory I can contemplate is an all medalion run without the use of BA. Even then the addional temples are really badly broken to the point where 90% of the usual dungeon requirements are skipped.

100% possible items and sidequests completed sounds like 100% to me. If you want to clarify, just make it an "100% items" category, or "All items".
