I've got an idea for a run on an arcade style title, i wont do any spoilers because i haven't even started yet, so nuff said on that front. Anyhow, i thought of a title that might be sweet a few days back and thought ok, might be a thumbs up. but i haven't got a clue on what to use to accomplish a goal. For the record though its a shoot em up genre, not strictly arcade, as a game for one, but there's that paradigm that it's arcade, being originally credit based, having played it in a few venues, completely besides the point that, moving on. Thing is, i don't have flying one regarding which emu i should use, so being a noob, i've got to ask? do we have a dreamcast emu for it?

I'm afraid there's no way to TAS a Dreamcast game right now, and I don't know a lot about TASing arcade games; I'm trying to guess which game you want to TAS and if it's what I'm thinking about, there is a high probability that you won't find an arcade emulator to TAS it... But maybe a Gamecube version exists. If that's the case, try using Dolphin ;)

Dream cast emulator is being worked on. Can't play games yet though.

Do you mean there is a Dreamcast emulator being worked on with re-recording abilities? If so, nice. If you just mean there is a regular dc emu being worked on but can't play games, there is a few out there running quite a few game "decently", NullDC being one.

What is there to spoil, though? I assume that once you start this run you're going to keep people updated on your progress, given that you've been told to do so on your previous submissions... And unless you're absolutely top-tier at this game you're probably going to want to open up to the forums about strategy and entertainment to make a quality run. ...I mean, I'm pretty sure I know what game it is, and it'd make a fantastic entertainment run if done right, but it'd take a hell of a lot of effort and community work for it to all come together.

In other words, before submitting your Ikaruga run, you should probably ask for feedback from the forums. :) (Hell, you should probably ask for feedback after doing the first stage, since scrolling shmups are very hard to make entertaining TASes of)
