Done in 18:59. It is faster than Yy's movie because Fiery Mario is used which saves a lot of time. Yy's video was boring and I have decided to show some glitches and cool moves.

Glitches done in this video:

To be written when I will take the time. Though, almost all of them are already explained at SuperMarioBrosTricks page.

Level timenunits

Level Yy's video Our Video
1-1 370 370(It's the same as in the warp version)
1-2 350 348(collecting a mushroom)
1-3 260 260
1-4 263 261(collecting a fireflower)
2-1 345 347
2-2 310 310
2-3 240 240
2-4 263 263
3-1 347 347
3-2 245 245
3-3 260 260
3-4 263 263
4-1 340 341(earning fireworks)
4-2 344 344
4-3 261 261
4-4 349 353(A lot faster because of that pass trough wall glitch)
5-1 247 248
5-2 347 347
5-3 260 260
5-4 263 263
6-1 351 351
6-2 343 342(I don't want fireworks)
6-3 256 255(I don't want fireworks)
6-4 263 263
7-1 353 352(I don't want fireworks)
7-2 310 310
7-3 240 241(earning fireworks)
7-4 346 346
8-1 200 200
8-2 342 342
8-3 243 244
8-4 314 316
I love how Bowser is killed in 2-4. It's like: "Hello Bowser! I'm just going to pass. Goodbye!"
In 8-2, jumping at trampoline doesn't slow too much frames to be 21 frames slower.

Wow. Incredible, absolutely incredible. I'm glad somebody finally has updated this movie and the use of the fireflower makes it ten times as entertaining than just running through the levels as fast as possible. An easy yes vote from me.

I can't think of a single reason to not publish this video. It's faster both in time-units and real-time. But I do have a couple of questions: -A couple of times you fire 2 fireballs instead of 1 to get your speed going - just because? -A couple of times before the flag (6-3 is really noticable), you fire fireballs - to keep from getting fireworks? -In 7-2, it looks a little clumsy when you get sucked down a bit - any loss of time there? -7-3 is a pretty straight forward, linear level. How did you pull it off faster than Yy? But nothing really to talk about - certainly, yes.

I am not sure what you are meaning.

At 6-3, I have thrown fireballs just for fun. Other than that, all fireballs were necessary.

In fact, it's not slower. Btw, if you can see carefully, all ennemies are dead in this water section. In other words, it's less clumsy.

Are you positive you have the right ROM version? This is not the same ROM as Phil's 5:00 movie.

OK, that's right, I was wrong. I guess what I wanted to say is there's a PRG0 and a PRG1 ROM. Some sites also have a PRG 0 (note the space) which might be slightly different.

Beyond being a very entertaining movie, this demonstrates just how extensive and well-suited to speedruns this game is. In most levels almost every enemy is killed. It looks like a "100%" kill run could be done without much slowing down or diversion. (Exceptions would have to be made for buzzy beetles who are between solid objects, since they could be stomped but not "killed" unless you happen to be invincible at the time, but this would still fall under "everything that can be killed is killed").

yeah a 100% kill run would be fun to watch, though i'm sure at times quite hard when there is more than path you can take and monsters on each. interesting to see how that could play out though. btw still cant watch this movie. gave up trying to figure out what was wrong.
