I know that the tricks cost a lot of time and since the rail trick is way more useful than that... I'll remake it. This was more like a testrun than a serious thing, but I said: "sure wynaut?"
Please read the movie rules before submitting. They're there to ensure minimal movie quality, since every movie that gets submitted to the workbench causes a small amount of effort behind the scenes (which could add up if everyone erraneously submitted very flawed runs). In the future don't submit your TASes right away: Create a thread about your game (or reuse an existing one) in the appropriate subforum to at the very least state your goals and (optionally) your progress.
K i mead it... Seriously, Its 12:25 in the morning... I need sleep.

I'd be more concerned about the low number of rerecords and that the stated goal is time but doing tricks seems to pause the game and give nothing but points.
Tangent is right, the skateboard tricks are pointless in this TAS since only gives you few points and theres a better way to get a BUNCH of them.

Best character in my opinion... Bucky Lasek. He has max speed, good jump and balanced acceleration. He lacks of brakes, but I don't know how using brakes will benefit runs. Other characters such as Tony Hawk himself are kind of unbalanced, but I'm still not sure who is the best.

Now... the rail trick. That trick doesn't work with all of the things, but when it works, it helps a lot. The thing is when you jump on the rail, get out of the rail and go back to it, you'll still get more points. Doing that continuosly its rewarding, but you lose some speed after doing that a lot.

Back from the dead. I was testrunning all of the 10 characters, and something really odd happened. Every time I raced 1 on 1, the rival 9 of 10 times beat me. The rival always changes, so this could be something else too. Here are my records of each character, with a VERY simple route and in the first stage (all in real time and no crashing or taking any rails, using all S boosts and not grabbing anything from the floor): Tony Hawk: Me: 0:41.01 Rival: 0:40.20 Bucky Lasek: (fastest) Me: 0:40.40 Rival: 0:39.66 Andrew Reynolds: Me: 0:45.06 Rival: 0:44.25 Bob Burnquist: (won due to dumb AI or something) Me: 0:43.85 Rival: 0:44.08 Chad Muska: Me: 0:47.43 Rival: 0:46.31 Elissa Steamer: Me: 0:47.43 Rival: 0:40.45 Geoff Rowley: Me: 0:44.80 Rival: 0:43.96 Jamie Thomas: Me: 0:44.83 Rival: 0:44.00 Kareem Campbell: Me: 0:47.38 Rival: 0:46.16 Rune Glifberg: Me: 0:42.01 Rival: 0:41.26 This is very odd. I tried again with Tony Hawk, and this... was my record. Tony Hawk 2: Me: 0:41.85 Rival: 0:41.11 Yeah this game acts weird with the AI... EDIT: I also found a new trick. I press turbo B (brake button) and left or right while boosting and I can move left or right slightly faster.

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/22738209776405315 So...yea. Did tournament mode because that's the only mode that has credits. How the hell are the NPC's so fast? x.x Also holy shit the handicap made this trick almost pointless. All npcs got their points boosted by 999 because of this lol. Oh, and technically I could simply do the 5th stage instead to show credits, but I have no idea how to go that fast, so not yet.

I would actually recommend to do all stages instead of a single level TAS. And dude that trick can be done that fast!? My guess is that you shouldn't do the trick that fast... only with strategic timing and placement.

1. All stages? The NPCs are on steroids lol. >.> 2. I don't think it would matter when I boost, since I got the feeling the handicap is applied after the finish line. I can't check now, but I can at the weekend. 3. For number 1, how exactly do I move faster?? Right now like I mentioned, the npcs speed past me faster than I ever could. Edit: Oh, and thanks encoder! :P

1. Well a single level TAS is never well recieved here, and it's a Tournament after all so... 2. I'm not sure if handicap is a thing in this game though. 3. No idea, we can figure out how toghether but... not right now. :)

The handicap I meant is the point boost. If you don't get 999 points, all the CPUs get around 100 points instead. Edit: 1. 04D8 seems to be the score; it can go over a thousand, despite not showing up on the HUD 2. Right before the race ended, I edited it to 4000. All the CPUs suddenly got 3900+ higher score. x.x 3. 034F seems to be the speed. Highest I can go normally with fastest characters is 160, and the only way I managed to get higher was when an opponent bumps into me from behind.
