I've followed the tutorial and read another thread where someone wrote: "all you have to do is make a savestate where you leave off. Then when you wake up in the morning and open up VBA and the game, just press Shift+8 (or whatever combination you set), load your savestate, and resume working." I've done this - but it does not start recording when this happens it says (no movie). Is the only option to "record from now(snapshot)"? I dont see how I should start the actual recording from there. I can keep playing but it doesnt record anything!

Says nothing about that in the tutorial. Its written like the recording start automatically. If you start recording, that will create a new .vbm, file. How do I put these together later, I know I have to record with fraps for example and also should i record from now(snapshot) or from restart

Why would you assume it would immediately record your input as soon as you start the game? Also, why use fraps if there's an AVI recording feature that can run alongside of movie playback?

After opening VBA and the game, go to Tools -> Movie -> Play Movie... and select the VBM that you have recorded from the previous session. You must do this or else it will not record. After you have done this, then you can press Shift+8 so it says "Read+Write" (if it says "Read-Only", press Shift+8 again) and then load the savestate and resume working.

Please don't use fraps. VBA and most other emulators have built-in tools to dump AVI, and it doesn't skip frames.

And how do I start recording from that point? Still says no movie. What about this inbuildt AVI-recorder that someone told me there is, in a question for me without telling me how to use it.

Go to Tools>Start AVI Recording... to encode to AVI. If you're encoding a vbm, the AVI will not show all the times you loaded a savestate, which is what you wanted if I recall correctly.
