Hello, Im playing with a xbox 360 controller and trying to make a speedrun of Metroid Zero Mission, but its really hard to hold my controller with one hand and press the keyboard(frame advance) with my other, it would be nice if I could bind frame advance to a button on my controller instead, is this possible? The other question is that when I hold the frame advance button down(when Im running on safe ground etc) it goes a bit slow sometimes, can I boost this somehow? Without using the mouse or keyboard, would be nice If I could keep to just my controller.

A possible solution to your first problem could be a free program called Joy2Key, which allows you to bind keyboard keys to a gamepad. You could use this to assign the current key for Frame Advance (default is N) to one of your controller buttons (or triggers). I don't think there's a way to speed up frame advancing, but I'm not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to VBA.

Is there a hotkey that toggles frame advance on/off? If not, why not set the non-frame advance speed to something slow (50%, 25%, whatever) and also bind to your controller this hotkey?
