It's worth noting that Pete's run also appears to be done in the European version; are there speed differences between the two? Perhaps if he were to describe some of the biggest timesavers, it would be telling how helping it might be.
Movement is relatively the same. Load times NTSC wins and the biggest note of all that no-one noticed: PS2 FAT
I bet to differ. There are a few things that could've made the run a few minutes faster. The crystals in Happily Ever Faster all could've been collected faster ways. Especially the one where you have to take the platform to reach the path to get to it. I have a completely different route for that place that I believe is indeed faster. You still do each track, same modes and everything. You just do them in different orders. Track and the Beansalk, Field crystal, Field crystal, gem, Evilocity, field crystal, once upon a tire. Assume that the park workers are in there too. But the most improvement can be made in Happily Ever Faster (atleast 1 1/2 minutes.)

God-dammit space your text out! We're talking about what console he was using and version NOT the things that could (obviously) be improved. Heck, Pete isn't going to bother updating his run until an obvious change in route shows that with a video to back it up! HE KNOWS!

Well I could always make a little video of the tricks I used that he didn't. I'm sorry that I didn't get the run on video
This would be much appreciated, yeah. Would do a lot of good.

Ok, so I found a weird glitch near the enterance of Astro Land. I'm experimenting with it right now. There it the smallest chance that it's possible to get in Astro land early. That would be amazing.

Explain this glitch.

Ok, so after you cross that moving platform on the side of that area (The right side) if you try to run off the edge there's an invisable wall. If you jump over it and jump towards the side of the upper level you'll end up under the floor. Once you're under the floor you can move around but if you go backwards you'll fall. But you can also grab onto the invisable ledge, there's another ledge right arcoss from it that could help you get out of bounds. That's as far as I've gotten. I hope this made sense.

I can still make a video but I don't know when it'll be up because I've had a little trouble recording lately.

Pete mentioned me about this. I did get that glitch too, but once so happy to see how to get it back to back.

So you think it could be helpful, I just found it. I haven't had time to explore with it.

Sadly I don't think it's possible to get all the way around (at least I haven't been able to). I do indeed plan on working with the glitch some more. But right now I'm working on yet another possible skip. This possible skip in in TW. near the jump pad there is the place where you unlock the battle arena. Near that enterance is a tall stack of boxes that reach higher than you can jump. I plan to, with much patients, try to break as few boxes as possible (while still being able to get on top) and see it I can get out of bounds that way. If that works then that would be 14 crystal we wouldn't have to collect. If you need me to post a video or a picture of the area I'm talking about, I can.

It was the only idea I had for another major skip. If you jump and spin and immediately turn away you should be able to only break like three or so boxes and you can land on the tall tower of boxes. It is enough to clip a bit into the ceiling but by no means anough to get out of bounds, so I don't think you can find a trick if you approach it this way unless you can find another ledge or something to grab on to.

Yeah, I was pretty upset too. I don't think there are anymore possible skips. The best thing we could possibly do is work on a perfected route for each area, I've got the perfect route for Happily Ever Faster. It's a circle almost.

Also is walking or jumping faster? It seems like walking is but I'm not sure.

I thought spinning was... Also do we have a top down view of each area?

Like a decent route? For The first 3 areas I think we're good. There's one thing in Mystery Islands that lets you get the 3rd field crystal through a wall but I've only gotten it to work once. With Happily Ever Faster, I have a perfect route for that place that I plan to post a video on. It save about a 20secs. from the old route I as thinking. With T-Wrecks, The route there's a bit shaky but I think it'll work. There's definitely room for change but who know if it'll do anything. For The last to areas I've got nothing. I think with Astro Land the route there is perfectly fine. But with Tomb Town, I got nothing. (I suggest we work with Pete Route because that seemed to be a good start.)

So... "This game doesn't need specific settings to run properly." Only random occurrence is the glitchy loading screens as they take forever for some reason, other than that we're good to go (I had to re-get the NTSC version). Edit 1: WIP 0 Since I want to do this as a team thing I decided to do the menu (and left a bit out for safety reasons) Dolphin 3.5 - 1684 Edit 2: Syncs on:

Do we know exactly how many coins we need to collect for everything we need to buy? And would getting like 32 kills on a race help anything, because that has happened to me during one of my practice runs? I know it would help with the route because we would have to destroy as many boxes.

Well I never really got to calculating that. I know ~75% of the coins we'll earn in races. And I think doing fast Lap would be faster instead of Rolling Thunder for the tracks we do one mode on.

I don't know if these could be used for a run (both tas and rta) but I'll show anyway. (2nd one I think not but 1st one maybe.) Link to video 1) At the front of the level there is boxes stacked now if the boxes were broken the backup strat would be jumping on the far right side. 2) To skip the long chase with boulder you can jump around from the fairy with the crystal ontop to the area of the secret area... this one wouldn't be recommended as it is more optimal to talk to the chicken first.
