Ok, so tell me, HappyLee, how on Earth did you do the "passing through blocks" glitches? For example, in 4-2 of your SMB any% TAS (nice to improve klmz's run by 1 frame, BTW), you hit a mushroom block, and you passed through the floor. The only thing I want to know is how to do it without a ceiling and continuous walljumping.
If I could have a tool-assisted real life, I'd... Being a novice, I'd probably load the wrong state, have the IRS AI bankrupt me, and eventually make me want to kill myself and redo 11 years of hard work.

Yeah, it does have a lot of that. Tell you what, I'll make World 1-1 with what I know, and others can edit it to include passing through blocks. How does that sound?

Well. From my thoughts. That passing through block was done by pressing opposite movement button pulls mario instead of ejecting him. Watch the inputs

I'd hate to be rude, but was that supposed to be an answer to my question?

Yes, he just told you how he thinks entering walls is done. He said to press the opposite direction (left if moving right) before entering a wall, to make the wall pull Mario inside instead of eject him back out, and he suggested you watch how it's done in an existing run to see how long you need to push each direction and at what time.

I don't know what exactly "going through blocks without ceilings" means, but I'm guessing it's probably the same as "Application: Jump into a solid object below a floor" in our GameResource page. It's impossible to go through the bricks without a ceiling in 4-2 the same way like my SMB warped run (although it can be done in this particular place due to the coin, using a slightly different way), so are many other solid walls. Making a movie showing every glitch we know in SMB would seem impossible to me, if you really meant "every glitch". SMB has glitches that can be only shown in hacks, for example, the "springboard of death" glitch you've told (as far as I know). In order to do that, you have to make your own hack that would make every possible glitch come true. If you only meant to make a normal playaround, that can be arranged. But still, an interesting playaround requires lots of knowledge and skills. And if you aim to show as much glitches as possible, that would be a huge project. To me, a short playaround with a nice routine would be good, and a well-made hack is more suitable than the original SMB to me. By the way, if you know nothing about the "passing through blocks" glitches, I can hardly believe that you know many glitches, possibly not even half of them. I can't say that I remember every glitch known myself, but there are over thirty different ways of passing through blocks, and still there are lots of glitches a lot harder than those, some of which are never performed in any TASes here. So please be a bit more modest, and start practicing from the beginning.

You mean the Small fiery Mario? That's not Luigi, isn't it? http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/NES/SuperMarioBros.html#SmallFieryMarioNegativeMushroomSmb1MaybeSmb2jToo

It is the same as "Application: Jump into a solid object below a floor" AND "Application: Jump into a solid wall and walk through it". I can do neither of those glitches, or what applications of these we found for speed, but I know many others! I even know how to recreate the "springboard of death" glitch, the details shown by ThrillaDaMcColdKilla in the embedded video. Link to video

Well that's an eye-opener to me. I thought that glitch can only happen in hacks, but it turned out to be possible everywhere you have 4 enemies ahead of the spring. But I doubt that you'll show that glitch in a playaround, because Mario would die painfully and it's boring to watch. Knowing things doesn't mean you can pull all of them off. To make a playaround of SMB, it takes far more than that.

That's pretty well-known, and already shown in Hard Relay Mario TAS and my SMB lowest score TAS here.

I think it was proven to be done by Mana many many years ago, nothing new.

I got an 1-up mushroom using that way in 8-2, which is basically the same as the regular mushroom.

There's a Maximum Coins (without death of course) project going on, with GREAT entertainment and lots of extraordinary ideas. The author TEHH_083 is working on 4-1, and I'll post a WIP here till 4-2's finished.
