Just in case you didn't know, if you were ever to TAS any Snes game, don't use ZNES. It's deprecated here.

I know, i read. I basically just got that since i already knew how to use it and ill mainly only use it just for play. Not tas. Also, YAY! I finally have megaman the power battle! *ahem* so anyways, ive made it to the volcano now on atlantis squarepantis, but im gonna hold of for a bit. Dont worry, i wont completely forget the project or anything Eh heh, actually i am optimizing it a bit, but not for speedrunning, just to get rid of ... Embarrassing moments. :P hey, a guy needs to protect his reputation for being a master at the game, and the emulator lag plus the error of not mapping controls sometimes, makes it difficult. Also, i can also get the hang of the tools this way. But its mainly to get rid of the ... 'bloopers' |:|

So jlun2, hows your run goin? Hey, im gonna help someone else with their kssu run. Since you're working on atlantis squarepantis normally, when your done can i use that as my verification movie so i can actually start on the real run with squidward? Me working on helping vanillacoke to finish his kssu tas will give you time to finish your run. Well?

Got stuck trying to figure out how to get the NPC Patrick to stop being dumb cooperate, so I decided to finish off this TAS which is almost done.

|:/ ... Nice ... blame the star, *starts acting sarcastic* its not like you have TOOLS to fix that! *shocked face* Just teasin Btw against the clock work guardian, sandys combo move is the most effective. (i could use that in conjunction with squidwards kick attack for super fast boss defeat >:) ) ... Oh, im sorry, did you say something?

Are you saying the run lost sync at that frame? Just continue recording from the frame it desynced on so you can finish your verification movie without having to restart.

No it didnt lose sync it said finished a stopped recording after 144960 frames. AND I WAS ON THE LEVEL RIGHT BEFORE ATLANTIS! I honestly would prefer a desync over this the movie recording frame counter was there but beside it said finished and the total frame count was ... Ok, you know the frame count, ive said it already It was my verification movie too, i cant start the real tas till its done :(

Im working on the verification movie again. Should be easier now that i found out its better to not have the dpad configured to the arrow keys :P also, im tasing some parts of it that will be almost EXACTLY the same in my real run (the places i dont use squidward), and also to see if it could help with the frame limit problem. So when im done with the movie, i can just stick those parts in my run, make any necessesary edits, work on the rest. Also, i checked out the submit Movie page, and in the game select, there was no atlantis squarepantis. How will i mark that when the time comes?

Uh ... Ehehe ... Apparently, i didnt have 100% this whole time. I just found the squidward statue. :P well atleast now I can a truthfully say that I do know ABSOLUTELY everything about the game (good thing too, it wouldve been embarrasing if the run was published as a 100% but then revealed that i was missing the statue so it would probably be taken off or something), and besides, I still already knew all those speedrun routes and such, so you can't say I'm not a master. Well, at least I got the statue on my real DS game now. But lol, that's a little embarrasing :s

It's okay. Just continue the movie where you left off and go back and get everything you need to earn the statue.

Yeah, its not about the movie, im not collecting the statues so that i can collect them in the real run. I just mean, ive had the real game this whole time, thinking i had it 100%, but i was missing one thing that whole time. Thats a little embarrassing :P

Thought of a new trick. I think if I switch right before i land on a sponge dive, jump as the other character to cancel the animation, then switch back to Spongebob and jump to cancel that animation, i can use the sponge dive more while shaving off some of the stuck frames. I still don't think it should be overused, though, because that might still make me lose speed if used too much, but i think this trick will help :)

Ya know, I just figured out why the verification movie is takeing so long. Its cause Im trying to SLIGHTLY Tas CERTAIN parts of it so the judges wouldnt have to waste as much time waiting for the sram to form from it. Therefore when i get my privleges back in a few days, I'll redo it from scratch without major tasing. *sigh* curse my need to make things go a CERTAIN way (aka hyperfocus) -_-'

Why would you restart? The only persons who will even see the verification movie is you and whomever is the judge and a handful of people that choose to watch your TAS in Desmume. It just doesn't make any sense.

Theres a bit of bugs that are happening in the verification movie that i dont trust. That, and my schedule has thrown me WAY off, so yeah. -_-'

What sort of bugs? Could you go into detail about them? Perhaps they could be useful.

Its not a useful bug, its a bug that'll desync the verification movie. I don't really feel like explaining it right now, but it's something I feel like restarting for. Anyways, I'm really good at this game, so playing through it casually should be easy (as long as the emulator MAPS the input while i record the verification movie and not be RETARTED (i never use that word, why am i using that word?) while I try to record the verification movie -_- )

Now that I got that* out of the way, I've got a new computer again (again) and I'm sort of free until tomorrow, so I guess I can movie file that casually records through the game. You took 40:16.00 huh? I'll see if it can go lower. *Something to do with harddrives. Edit: Sandy was a fun boss, but who knew using spongebob while holding patrick kills sandy really fast?

Ok, I'm at alantis. how did you beat the game in 40 mins? It took me literally that long to beat all the way to alantis. Btw, for pretty much all enemies, use patrick's combo attack. Sure you need to collect shells, but just take a look at the bosses I did and see how fast it is compared to your listed methods. Test Run

Experience. 'nuff said. ... Whaaaaat? I'm good at this game! >:/ Edit: I already know how powerful Patrick's combo attack is. I'll use it for Grouper Snot, but for Sandy, the crates are MUCH easier and quicker. And I'll be using either Sandy's combo move or Squid's jump kick on the other bosses. You'll see. Another Edit: hey, uh just wondering, but I started watching your test run, and so far it is syncing well, but either it somehow is working while still playing very badly, or you need to optimize ALOT. Which version of the emulator are you using? ... Oh you said casual play, my bad. Then i guess i do have the right emulator. ^^' unfortunately, i can't use your run as a verification movie since you collected treasures --' darn

Oh.....I forgot about that. Hey, why not you start from a new game, and record how you beat the bosses so I can check whether or not your methods are faster or not in TAS settings.

Alright, when I record the verification movie again, I'll record the bosses without Squidward. then you'll see how I deal with the bosses WITH Squidward (at least the bosses I can take them into) when I make the actual run.
