What's with this 2D => 3D feature at all? I killes navigation, sound adjustment, quality options and even resizes the shit out of the video. The video gets processed for a view forever and if I turn off the 3D not disabling it for the video, doesn't show the vid at all! And it happens in all browsers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyClSssQeIc I suggest to bring up a list of videos that were set to 3D by youtube and call for uploaders to disable this option in the video settings. For now something can be seen here: http://tasvideos.org/Natt/YoutubeFormatList.html

I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

Is there some video tag that disables it? If not, how can it be disabled? I tried to google some documentation, apparently not figuring the right keywords...

Only in the "Edit info" section I'm afraid. It's also on the upload page. "Disable 3D for this video". Did "disable 3D tag youtube" search not work?

I'm not following you. Other than the virtualboy encodes (which are not what we're talking about here), if I go to any of the videos with 3d encodes listed, including your original post, I don't see 3d anything. Edit: Oh, I see. It shows you the 3d button when you click the format list menu (gear icon). That's new isn't it? What's wrong with just not clicking on the 3d button then? It does inform you that it's "converted from 2d", should be enough of a hint to stay away from it. Aside: I love how youtube is spending their dev time on pointless bullshit like this instead of their 9 million item bug list.

If you don't click 3D button. the video is just unwatchable. For me the encode from OP never loads, disables navigation, volume and quality. If you press that button and then press again to switch 3D off, the vid gets stretched horizontally to full width. Just try all these things.

Yeah, I'm not seeing that at all. I do see that if you turn 3d on and then off again, the video is now stretched inappropriately. But just loading the page and watching the video in 2d, or switching between 2d transcodes, no problem.

They all work just fine for me. I'm not even getting the stretching issue from turning it on and off.
