Minor bug: SG-1000 movies are created with the Core listed as SMS instead of SG. In 1.7.2, this prevented SG-1000 movies from being recorded, though 1.7.3 fixed this side-effect. Changing it to SG and attempting to load the movie will result in an "unhandled exception" error because "movie does not match the currently loaded system".
I can confirm that 1.8.1 does play a SG-1000 movie despite being marked as SMS. I think the SG-1000 is a modded SMS?

I believe the SG-1000 came out before the SMS, although they run on the same core (SMSHawk). The SG must be a less powerful system because its games run significantly faster on my computer than SMS games. Thanks for all your prompt responses to my questions and bug reports, by the way. It's nice to know I'm being heard.

BizHawk 1.8.1 crashes with an ATI X1200 due to a shader compilation error, it seems like. Yes, it's an old, VERY OLD integrated graphics card, but still.

theres an 90% chance that its your gpu driver actually crashing. bizhawk handles many shader compilation errors, although it will probably fail to launch if the most utterly basic shader it does for the screen drawing fails to compile. GPU drivers commonly crash while trying to compile shaders. Supposedly that card supports opengl2.1 which I think should work with bizhawk.

Within the lua Console continuing to Toggle the lua on or off (or whilst it's on to continue to refresh this pops up) This was done with the GBA core just incase it doesn't work anywhere else. This is another minor one because you have to Toggle/Refresh a lot to get this one.

Hello. I was trying to run Angry Video Game Nerd K.O. Boxing on the Atari2600, but this error appeared: I just changed the .bin file name to .A26 because of the .bin file just loaded but on the Genesis core.

add a record to gamedb_user.txt with the appropriate mapper specification based on the records in gamedb_a2600.txt. I think .a26 files dont specify which mapper they use. If you run it in stella, it might tell you which mapper it uses. If it doesnt run in stella, then find out what the heck it's supposed to run in.

How do I see the mapper on the Stella emulator?

1) There already is an entry in the gamedb for AVGN KO Boxing 2) The latest atari releases have heuristics that properly detect the game, the mapper is F4. Both the NTSC and PAL versions properly detect 3) The latest releases have rom picker support for .bin, for which you can pick atari 2600 I suspect he's using an outdated release. Or a very bad version of the rom. EDIT: Definiately a bad rom here, after looking at the error message more. The header of the ROM literally says the mapper name is "UNKNOWN", that's just...terrible. Find the correct rom please.

I would suspect he's using an ancient version of bizhawk since his system has no opengl support.

BizHawk 1.6.1 is the latest version I can use.

I know that the Ocarina of Time hack Zelda's Birthday locks up in certain places (i.e. edited terrain). Is there any way to fix it?

You have 4 plugins and a plethora of options, have you tried any of them? Also, you have 3 cpu types, and two rsp plugins.

I can't seem to get the ROM working... I had it preserved in a flash drive, but I think I'm gonna re-download it.

Found a possible bug regarding resets in Mupen64plus. When I reset the game on a specific frame, it causes Bizhawk to lock up and crash. Here is the example (Yoshi's Story, just after around frame 8301) I'm guessing this is the frame sram is updated because if you reset the frame prior, save data is not kept, and if you reset one frame later, the save data is there. Not a big deal really, but just thought I'd mention it.

I just deleted a SNES ROM I'd been using with Autoload both ROM and movie enabled, then tried to start Bizhawk again. It gives a Yes/No dialogue box saying "Could not open C:\[...].smc Remove from list?". Whether you choose Yes or No you always get the same error box: Seems the only solution is to put the ROM back.

khaz, I can not get the Movie file to auto load with the ROM. How did you do that?

I don't think I did anything special... Just Recent ROM > Autoload and Movie > Recent > Autoload both checked, load a ROM, play a movie, close bizhawk and restart? It loads the ROM and starts playing the movie immediately on starting. Bizhawk 1.8.1 by the way.

Here is an emulation defect in 32 in 1 (Atari 2600) that has the wrong sound effects. I compared it to the DS version played on a 3DS (Atari Greatest Hits 2). The DS version sounds like the real console. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/17666974605583880 Edit: I found the defect is there on 1.8.4

This error will be corrected in the NEW 1.8.3 Yes, 1.8.3 will be released again. With bug fixes for minor things. Edit: Or 1.8.4 or Whatever version I want it to be now.

I don't know if any/all of these issues are already known, but since these weren't fixed in the latest version, i thought i'd post them: (All of these are for N64) 1. Just now i ran into a bug where Goldeneye 007 turns completely black after trying to record a movie in BizHawk 1.8.2. The game is still running but with audio only. Problem persists until i shut off and re-open the application. Edit: Noticed the problem appeared in 1.7.4 as well, so i restarted my computer and that apparently fixed it. 2. Perfect Dark freezes constantly. The game seems to run fine otherwise, and you can get around the problem by savestating alot. This makes me think this is a pretty minor bug? (I guess i should also mention the old Mupen glitch still exists where you sometimes can't progress to the next level/go back to main menu.) 4. Poke address doesn't work correctly for floating point types. It always assumes hex and you get a warning if you try to enter a decimal value. The default "00000000" changes to "0.0" if you remove all characters, but the emulator still doesn't accept decimal values. 3. RAM search doesn't work when you do an initial search for values greater than 0x80000000 (to search for pointers). 0 addresses will be removed. That's all i can think of right now. Btw, are there any plans to implement assembly hacking features in BizHawk?
