2. Why don't you use CRF encoding for YT instead of qp in the Hybrid Encoding Script?
Because for YT which is known to transcode the video again, you want something to be encoded fast and don't care about file size (to a point). So doing qp makes it very easy, there is less to "think" about. As for lossless, you pretty much have to use qp, as crf 0 will not be lossless (old bug?). In general qp will have bigger files but better quality in less noticeable areas and encode fast, while crf will have smaller files and about the same quality, taking quality (make smaller file) from the less noticeable areas with slower encode speed. At lower numbers, it gets harder and harder to tell the difference between both.

Hi everyone, I am thinking of encoding my TASes in 1440p. Is there a way to fool my mupen (which I have just got to work in my VM) to display at 1440P without breaking it. my computers screen is displayed as 1280 x 800. In other words. I want to make mupen record at 1440p while inside of the VM. Hope this helps, sorry for bad description in advance ;)
I’m sorry. Really I am... I am so sorry for what I did. Forgive me.

I think it's impossible to record offscreen stuff, maybe a VideoForWindows thing. For me the end picture is what I set, but the image gets cut beyond my screen resolution.

If the emulator renders to an offscreen bitmap that is then blitted to VRAM, it would be possible to just record that bitmap. But you'd need the source of that emulator to add that functionality.

Ah, but you forget, this is inside a VM. Set the VM Desktop resolution to be bigger than your capture resolution and you can capture in 1440p. The VM software would either rescale or add scroll bars. What VM software are you using? Ediy: Sorry feos, I knew of this solution a long time ago, but I didn't think you would want to go through the trouble of setting a VM just to capture, lol.

Ah Hi Aktan, I am using a specially modified version of a VM (that I modified myself) called oracle. I can change the mupen64 to the screensize I want, but I have to use some hack you made to get the avi capture working. (It might be my computer but the link to this hack Is not working)

Weird, when I ran Mupen inside of VirtualBox running Windows XP, I didn't have any problems. I did have to .kkapture the VM exe though. Are you just missing the modified .kkapture for Mupen? If so what link are you using?

I had similar trouble with Oracle/VirtualBox so can't offer support in directly making it work, but I can say that alternatively (if your graphics card supports it) you could be able to use DSR (if you're using and Nvidia card) or VSR (if you're using an AMD card). It's a nice and fairly recent patch that allows you to set your resolution higher (in same cases up to 4k) whilst scaling down the output to 1080p for your monitor. It's meant to be an anti-aliasing alternative, but it works perfect if you want to exaggerate your screen resolution and capture mupen video higher than your traditional screen resolution maximum.
I'm not as active as I once was, but I can be reached here if I should be needed.

Has anyone had this issue before? Lately, I have been trying to encode my Abe run for my YouTube channel and I tried so many attempts yesterday and when I encode using the bat from the publication manual, it only encodes 39 mins of audio the run and the run length is around 2 hours 8 minutes. Do I need to add something to the script to make it encode the whole audio length?

Only thing I know is that Youtube lately screws up old videos. Videos will just end immediately or they are severely graphically glitched now.

What I meant to say is that the video file itself. The .bat only likes to encode 39 minutes of audio and the movie length is 2 hours 8 minutes.

Have you tried encoding something very simple, like a NES TAS from the site, to make sure that works correctly?

You left "'" as a branch (1 single quote inside 2 double quotes). Should be "''" (2 single inside 2 double).

When I preview the script in virturaldub, it only goes up to a certain portion of the movie. Update: I think I know what the problem is now. I read through the kkpature guide and I forgot to check some settings. Hopefully the dump should be better now.

Hey feos! I selected a loseless codec and it's encoding OK now. My previous videos wouldn't open up in Windows Media Player but the new ones do. So I should get a final encode up soon.

Yeah WMP isn't the best thing to use anyway - I'd suggest at least getting Media Player Classic or even VLC (I use MPC so I have to suggest it, but I had a good experience with VLC)
