Mine is 3D Mario spinning around. I found it somewhere on the net (/gif/?) and was pretty amazed noone here already used it. It used to be a judge's mallet with truncated written in truncated japanese text on it, but that was on Highness' server which is now gone.

mindnomad I don't know if this http://www.abdn.ac.uk/tools/ibmpc/giftrans/index.hti works with animated .gif, but I've used it in the past for single frame .gifs. There are some links at the bottom that might be helpful, too.
I tried it. It makes the background transparent like you said, but then it starts trailing the previous frames until it loops back to the first frame. Any way I can avoid this?

There is an anime, R.O.D. TV. Itself a spinoff of the earlier released Read or Die, the characters are Paper Masters, a pair of bibliophiles who can manipulate paper to their choosing. My avatar in particular is from a doujin software game, ElePaperAction, which uses these characters in a sidescrolling beat-em-up style. The avatar is from the idle animation, resized to fit the forums. [edit: I think I'll just use the 1:1 scale image as my av now, since I'm seeing more people use slightly larger avatars nowadays] (My signature also happens to be a quote from the aforementioned anime.)
I like my "thank you"s in monetary form.

One of my alts is Sticky's old avatar upside down. Because of reasons I cannot quite remember.

Sage advice from a friend of Jim: So put your tinfoil hat back in the closet, open your eyes to the truth, and realize that the government is in fact causing austismal cancer with it's 9/11 fluoride vaccinations of your water supply.

Mine is an avatar that i requested to a friend a long time ago, in the left is Zero (from the Megaman Zero Series) and in the right is Vent/Aile (from Megaman ZX) in Model ZX slashing Omega Zero (boss of Megaman Zero 3 and secret boss of Megaman ZX) with their third slash. Ah, it also has my nick on it.

I change my picture alot, so I'm sure someone looking at this years from now, will obviously see what I'm explaining here, would be no where as near as what my avatar will be then. So without further ado, my current picture (now at this time) is this: http://i54.tinypic.com/n324o9_th.gif ... Her name is Yutaka Kobayakawa (小早川ゆたか) from the anime Lucky☆Star (らき☆すた)... It's sort of a small internet meme, not a huge one, of her singing Moji Pittan, a song based on a video game with the same name. In the anime, this sequence doesn't have any music to it, and the only thing that hints that she actually is singing this is that she says "Moji Pittan". This video, although not the original, has the song lined up with the original.

I could remind you, but that would spoil the magic.

I drew my avatar. She is a friend of mine from Thailand named Panda. The original (and finished) drawing can be found here: It was drawn with a range of pencils from 2H to 6B and took about 60 hours to draw. L. Spiro

That gave me a chuckle. But it’s all just hands + pencils. You can see it in stages here: http://l-spiro.deviantart.com/gallery/?catpath=scraps The shot for my avatar is Panda 3 7 there. nfq, thank you. Why not post your works? In another thread. Mine is me, in Mega Man 7 form. It also has shifty eyes and a goofy smile. I used to have a whole bunch of variations of this for a blog I used to do before the term blog was prevalent (2001ish). Basically, every day I posted I'd take a sprite of Bass from Mega Man 7, put my head on it, and re-colour it to indicate my mood and what I was wearing that day. Somewhere I've still got tons of tons of little me-Basses wearing different t-shirts. There must have been at least a hundred of them. The only other one still online that I know of is .

We already did that, did you forget, L-Spiro? You even showed that very same drawing there :) Here: (oh, wow... I can't find it!) The closest matches I've found are http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2146&highlight= and http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1720&highlight= My memory must have tricked me. Where did I see you talk about that drawing before? Oh and the other "explain your avatar" thread: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5439&highlight=

Maybe it was in IRC (probably) or maybe you followed the link from the MHS homepage to my deviantArt profile. Thank you Mister Epic. L. Spiro
