After an exhaustive attempt to get what everyone was expecting. In this race I did a lot ramps, improved use of spin dash, monitors and even enemies helped a lot in many places.

Some cases in Diamond Dust could not do a good attack on the snowman, a glitch could kill the Sonic instantly.
Technical Spin Dash: Sonic has five accelerations for the Spin Dash, I can use the maximum speed in a short time. Pressing the B button to release the first Sonic smoke of their spin. -3 Frames before I return and I use the spin button "B+C" or "A+B" has to have an acceleration level 3. Forward 2 more frame and press "B+C" or "A+B" and have an acceleration level 4 and 2 grip frame and "B+C" or "A+B" and have the fifth and final acceleration.
Technical Jump of Ramps: With a leap at the right time you can get a great speed, but only one moving part it will be possible to be able to jump, works best when it is tilted down.
Enjoy it!

Mukki: Judging...
Mukki: In the thread some questioned if not improving existing records was permissable. In my opinion it is not, though case-by-case exceptions may be made (eg. the human record is questionable as it was in Sonic Advance 3). This run does not beat all existing records and so if this run were to be published we would be providing content that is inferior to unassisted speedruns. This is contrary to the unique appeal of this website and should not be endorsed. Master of Pigs, if you choose to redo (and I think that you should) you should post WIPs in the forum thread so that your work can be peer reviewed. That way viewers can confirm that your work is of the highest quality and can point out ways in which it can be improved. Rejecting for not beating all existing records.

Hmm. This is quite the improvement! I'll check this out in a bit & post my thoughts in another reply.

I haven't watched this yet, but checking against the TSC time listings you can apparently do better on a handful of levels:
  • Green Grove 3: TSC has 0:24; you have 0:25.
  • Rusty Ruin 3: TSC has 0:11; you have 0:17.
  • Spring Stadium 3: TSC has 0:18; you have 0:24.
  • Volcano Valley 3: TSC has 0:18; you have 0:20.
  • Gene Gadget 3: TSC has 1:13; you have 1:14.
  • Panic Puppet 3: TSC has 1:38; you have 1:39.
EDIT: I note that TSC is mixing in times from the PC version, though this may only impact Green Grove 3 and Panic Puppet 3 in the above listing (those are the only ones for which use of the PC version in the record is noted).

Ok, is how to do this, but it is far to redo everything again. You know any good Movie TAS editor for GMV format?

Welp, I finished watching this! Heres my evaluation on the movie. Green Grove 1 - While this was plentiful fast, This appears to be one second slower than the current record by Comicalflop. Otherwise, great job! I can see you really have improved. Green Grove 2 - Very nice badnick & monitor bouncing! I am also quite impressed with the slope jumping as well as the spindashing. Green Grove 3 - The TSC time is one second faster than you here. But since that was done on the PC version, this gets a pass. Rusty Ruins 1 - Seems much faster than the TSC record. No complaints here. Rusty Ruins 2 - Seems like you could have bounced off some slopes insead of slowing down to turn. Rusty Ruins 3 - Instead of waiting for the claw to fall down, you could have just taken damage from it & land inside the helm where Robotnick would be. From there, you would land on the claw again and just keep on jumping to hit him. See this video for refference. Spring Stadium 1 - I think that if you utilize the bumpers a bit, you could save some time. Its still pretty impressive, especially the balloon bouncing. Spring Stadium 2 - You missed the badnick at the beggining from that big jump. But otherwise, this is a great level. Spring Stadium 3 - It is possible to hit him in the air when you are on the bottom. This should save you some seconds. Diamond Dust 1 - Very solid level! Didnt see any huge improvments here. Diamond Dust 2 - Didnt see any probelms here either. Maybe some frames could be saved with better velocity control, but theres not much I could really comment here. Diamond Dust 3 - Looks perfect. Ties the TSC time too. Nice job! Volcanic Valley 1 - Absolutely nice. Lived the way you handled the lifts. Volcanic Valley 2 - Nice job maintaining the speed with the speed shoes. Really liked how you took those corners. Volcanic Valley 3 - If you let go of the D-Pad when you bouce off robotnick, you stop earlier in the air. This saves some seconds. Gene Gadget 1 - Some minor speed management could maybe save some frames or seconds. Great level though. Gene Gadget 2 - Same as Act 1 Gene Gadget 3 - Try to hit robotnick faster and you'll get 1:13 here. Panic Puppet 1 - Some speed management could save some time here. I saw you bump into walls several times, losing your speed. Panic Puppet 2 - Very nice work here. Panic Puppet 3 - PC version strikes again. So you luck out. Overall, I think this is very publishable. Some minor improvements could be made in the future, but consider this a very strong Yes Vote Master of Pigs! You'ce vastly improved since your first submission and I think it clearly shows.

If you want to improve just those levels that can be improved, it may be possible to splice improvements in. I have no way of knowing if that's possible with this particular game at present, however. Here is what I would suggest: try recording an improved version of one of the improvable levels (use your current run as a base - just start a re-record at the start of that level), record to the end of the level, and post the resulting file here. We can then see if the rest of the run can be spliced on to that.

I made a terribad SD encode just for kicks while watching this. Don't whine about how bad it is. I know all too well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpFTVLvs4YA (Part 1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMMT_D9AW0U (Part 2)

Voted Meh .. there is technical value, and entertainment ... just not enough ... maybe it is the game, but anyway, if there are time improvements on each level, maybe this is the issue, .. or maybe I'm not seeing how close you get from the traps, spikes, enemies, and such.... +D

You should have at least matched Comicalflop's time in the first act. I am pretty sure that your next improvement will be good enough to deserve publication, though.

Ok, vote... I don't know! Good TAS, but some of your times was too slow, as sgrunt says. Ok, I think, your TAS will be. So vote YES. :P

LoL That first enemy is indestructible for a few seconds, I could fall directly upon it and lose more time. Then falls at a place closer to better direct the attack and capture of 'Flicky'.

I would not trade the best graphics and music for a more advanced version and unpleasant. Who would not want to hear the music of "Diamond Dust" or "Volcano Valley"? :-/

This isn't going to be an easy vote from me, as I was torn between yes and meh for some reasons. I've known about your previous submissions which were clearly suboptimal, and I was a bit skeptical when I approached this, but I've been very pleasantly surprised to watch this. The techniques and strategies you used throughout all this run looked very well done and optimised, in particular I like when you hit several badniks in a row and then go around, to collect all the flickies later. Jumps and spindashes seem to do their job. In short, I like this, a lot. The only exception is Gene Gadget but that's because I hate that level, I hope that the level designer who placed so many annoying tubes was fired for that. On the other hand, it is true that, as Sgrunt pointed out, most Act 3s (read most boss fights) can be improved, and even by watching the movie in real time I had the impression that the boss fights were slightly suboptimal, and that maybe you could land more hits in a row. The fact that you don't "beat existing records" is what would lean this submission towards rejections; but given the consistent improvements over your last attempt, and by the fact that I liked 95% of this, in the end I think it's a good idea to vote yes here. There are "known improvements", but this wouldn't be the first case of such a scenario (the most recent one that comes to my mind is that Yoshi 64 movie). If someone will want there can be obsoletions in the future, but it is good to have a starting point for such an important game. Maybe I would have preferred a run which collects all the emeralds, but that's because I have a fetish for 100% Sonic runs, so you can ignore me on this. Last, I approve the choice of the Genesis version over the Saturn version. The Genesis version has better music and faster loading times.

Isn't the only difference the bonus levels? I haven't played the Saturn version but Diamond Dust Zone's music is wonderful.

I'd like to second this. The Saturn loading times are bonkers. It takes several seconds for the image containing the "Loading..." text to load, then a few times longer for the level to actually load.

I was surprised by how good this looked compared to your last Sonic 3D Blast submission. Very entertaining, and even if you missed the TSC times in a few levels, I think this is plenty optimized to deserve publication. Yes vote. On the subject of world records: In my opinion, even if a world record is not matched, as long as the difference is not significant (maybe 2 seconds max), it shouldn't matter if the result is still entertaining.

Sorry to object against your No vote, but I've tried the Saturn version in Yabause, and there was graphical glitches.

You can do better! Next run will look good. There is a huge improvement over your first movie. But it is still improvable. Voting meh.
