Hell yeah! Baby Moses framewars!

This TAS improves on Aqfaq's movie by 40 frames or 0.66 seconds due to general optimization and a new trick in level 4.
  • Used Gens 11a
  • Abuses a glitch
  • Completes a piece of crap
Enjoy!

no matter how much you optimize it, it's still gonna look like a "press right and jump" run, unless you find another glitch that actually changes gameplay somewhat

I love how much the Author posts here.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

Ahead of 8 frames and last level remaining. By the eye I think I can improve the last level as well.

Yay! Go Wak! Seriously though, I wouldn't recommending submitting the movie, the workbench has had enough shit for a while.

Mr. Kelly, wise of you to rescind that, as I'd been more than ready to debunk your mistaken claim ;)

He could always have this submission file replaced by his and be listed as a coauthor.

I for one can't wait to see Wak's run. Seems like it should be it's own submission, especially if he redid it all from scratch without copying input, but if it would really save time for it to be a replacement here, whatever. All I care about is that baby moses be saved in the absolute minimum number of frames :D

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/587094520/Bible%20Adventures%20waks2.gmv 11 frames faster than current published run. And I'm done. And just like every game, it is probably beatable! Yet I still did my best. Nice start for a newcomer to get into a frame war for first submission. On a game I never played.

Not every TAS gets obsoleted - twice - before it's even published (or rejected for that matter; I think if it's rejected, it would probably be a first).

Anyone want to encode Wak's run? And Wak, want to let us know where the 11 frames come from? Also, can a publisher weigh in on whether Wak should make a new submission or not? Seems to me like he should just go for it...

Firstly, it would be a judge (not a publisher) that should weigh in on the matter. Secondly, I would wait for a decision on whether this run constitutes an acceptable game choice before considering making a new submission.

I agree with sgrunt; what a shame it'd be if, in the end, all three submissions are rejected for bad game choice... maybe that issue should be settled before the frame wars get totally out of hand?

The thought of a drunk person TASing a Bible Adventures game is awesome.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MyVXgHYiXY Here's the youtube vid. Basically, I saved 6 frames on getting baby moses on second stage, for jumping earlier, thus ending up on baby moses faster. Also, my curve is more to the right when lifting baby moses, so it also saved a few frames. I saved 2 frames on third stage by using the same strategy. Jump earlier, have a better push to the right when lifting baby moses. level 4 and 5 are the same. Savec 3 frames on stage 6 by going less to the right when jumping on platforms. Unfortunately, I had to land on the middle of the baby moses platform, because I had to jump as next input. And being more to the edge of platform, that lady wouldn't jump. =(
