Aglar has now posted the updated run using the zips. The hint I should have given earlier is: you are trying to go on the wrong way.

Oh I see ! That's great, he even pass through all the rings, I thought we couldn't maintain that speed long enough to skip them all. ^^

May as well post this now, since it's being actively worked on. I'd like to make a request that - even if it requires a slower path - you don't pick up shields or invincibility in addition to rings. Taking those feels rather like it's circumventing the goal by allowing you to take hits anyway... This might require something new to be found in Hill Top 2, but I think that would be better than sitting around for 40 seconds in that underground part anyway. :P I don't think it affects any other level with the current strategies.

But then, HTZ1 is impossible... and HTZ2 currently. Sadly, I don't think it's possible but I'm gonna look for it.

HT1 is really easy, just use this method to skip the underground: http://soniccenter.org/videos/S2%20-%20HT1K%20-%20041.avi HT2 I'm sure I used to have a method for as well, but I can't remember it right now. I'll come up with something.

You found the best way to bypass the thing that set (some type of)walls properties in HTZ1. I managed to do this behind the 10 rings box just now but got hurt by an ennemy hidden in the wall ;P. Can't wait to see the HTZ2 prblem solved. Edit: I tried it I think it may be even faster than the current path. o_o

I have tried the zip in ARZ1 and thanks to see improvements of Aglar in Sonic 2, I can make a push, but this does not lead me too fast or too far ahead of the camera. In addition, the school will have me many jobs that I must do and I have not had much time to continue with this. I do not know if anyone would like to continue from here, and I have done I EHZ and CPZ, I dont want to work in all areas.

To me, most of all I would like to see the progress of this. I'm not sure of who will try to continue what I leaves pending, but at least I know that this job have a good start. I hope your progress is as good as its beginning, and luck to who continue with this.

Not sure about the zip as I'm not familiar with Knuckles' special moves, but the time listed for Death Egg can be deeply improved. I made this a while ago. Should be slightly improvable IIRC.

In DEZ, it is possible to enter the floor by gliding under a door while it's closing... it's kinda hard though. Here's the new test run WIP, it includes Aglar's EHZ, Felipe's CPZ and ARZ1 (spliced). Brilliant work, guys. Despite not deep optimization (especially visible in HTZ), this run gives much more entertainment than heavilly optimized speedruns. For even more entertainment, I may suggest to abuse boss glitch in ARZ. It looks weird and also saves a few frames. If you hit Eggman at certain frame, he leaves bypassing exploding animation, and the animals in the capsule look completely broken :)

Is there something I can do about this ? ERROR: File "C:\Users\Anthony\Documents\Jeux\Genesis emul\Rom\S2K\spliced-x.bak.bak.bak.gmv" starts with "" instead of "Gens Movie" and thus cannot be a GMV. Edit: Problem solved. MCZ1 is now 8 seconds faster but still improvable a lot. Back to MCZ2 now. MCZ2: 44sec. Now the levels I hate the most... OOZs
