Just posting this in case somebody look for a decent memory card manager, psxjin rarely let you copy file between memory card, kinda annoying when you want to extract a particular save from a whole card and you dont want to use another emu just for that purpose http://www.zophar.net/utilities/psxutil/memcardrex.html It require .net 2.0 but it work perfectly fine and can read/save mcr (or others...) files

PSXjin v2.0.2 seems very laggy in some areas e.g. the room right after the first boss fight of CV: Symphony of the Night. It is fine in the left half of the room, but when you reach the right half, the lag count starts all of a sudden to increase every other frame and desync happens. You can play the published movie and turn on the lag counter to see it. Is it a bug?
Sry for necro answer but never saw your post, this problem isnt limited to sotn but happen as well in megaman, or others games, the only difference is those extra lag in sotn are manipulable and can go away with proper input (usually you just need to hold a direction and its gone) but yeah it make tasing much more tedious and less "perfect" (theres some I couldnt avoid anyway, or can ruin luck manipulation), its pretty random and many games arent affected tho

can psxjin record the hardware reset button?
yes just look for hotkey mapping, you have to bind a key

I am probably going to ask the most stupidest question of all time. I cannot find the resume recording button on this emulator :O what is it instead? (see told you it's dumb)

iirc it's save state and then load state with read-only mode unchecked, much like a lot of emulators on the site.
My user name is rather long, feel free to call me by htwt or tape.

Crap... me and my friend Rixer has started tassing Crash 3 tassing and we stumbled upon this... we were fine with everything until the graphics bug on this level... also that crash would disappears majority of the time of the water levels. Hope the next update fixes that issue ;D Edit: The reason Why we aren't using PCSX-rr is because we both have different glitches for some reason.

Sadly the only guy who can fix stuff in the graphics of PSXjin is not interested in continuing working on it. (If I understood earlier posts in this thread correctly).

Crap... so there is no other tas emulator for psx that's good enough and not broken until someone else picks it up if that's what you're saying

Pretty much, the core of our emu is crap beyond sanity levels. Our magicians made already a huge work to get psxjin in its current state, but it also depressed them since its bad code, the result is that they wont patch core stuffs but just cosmetics issues, if it was to really work on a psx emulator again, they would make a new one from scratch basicly. (read, psxhawk)

hm... cannot find that... I think what would make it easier if part of the code came from the PSXfin emulator as there is 0 bugs 0 lags and works on any PC unsure of macbook :/ damn those codes

Does this mean you got past the "This game requires a DualShock Analog Controller" screen in PSXjin, without the game freezing? If so, how? I have the most recent version of it but couldn't get it to go past that screen. (Also yes I have a TASvideos account from a few months ago that I rarely use and I just so happened to check today)

My PAL version of the game didn't freeze when I tested it. I'll check with NTSC and JAP soon and notify you about it.

Hey, I wanted to know how PSXjin does rerecording. I reload the movie I made and try to reload a savestate with read+write enabled on playback, and the movie just stops playing instead of continuing where it left off. I'm using PSXjin 2.0.2 svn 720, the most recent one.

I thought that is how it is supposed to work. Load the savestate in read-only mode (read-write mode truncates the movie after load)?

That didn't work. It doesn't seem like it's doing anything to the movie in read/write or read-only mode. EDIT: I can rerecord as long as I don't stop the video. As soon as I stop it, I stop being able to rerecord.

I suppose no chance of getting mid-frame reset support implemented?

Shift+8 and your loadstate button that will return you to tas. Do not go File>Loadstate, it's basically screwed that way.

When recording, why doesn't the first segment have the resolution as part of the file name?

Got what's probably a noob question. I'm trying to get PSXjin set up to do some RAM watching in Final Fantasy VII. I've set up my controller from Configuration>Controllers, but after loading the game it does not recognize any of my inputs. I've tried 2 different USB controllers (a Dualshock2>USB adapter and a SNES-style USB controller - both of which are recognized by the controller plugin config but not the game, and both of which work with other PSX emulators), toggled back and forth between Digital/Analog inputs, and tried another game (Final Fantasy IX), but have had no luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Having the same problem as the guy above. Using MotionJoy for my PS3 controller, the controller setting interface gets configured properly, but game wont take any input (not showing in input display either) Keyboard does work, but that's not quite fun/effective for playstation games. Gonna go try to see if I can pinpoint the problem through debugging.

I got it to work by resetting the emulator and actually I got the opposite way. My keyboard wasn't showing input. Try removing the ini file and try again that worked for me.

I ended up being able to get it to work, but only if PSXjin recognizes my controller as controller #0 - sometimes I have to unplug all other USB controllers and reboot my PC to force my PS2 controller adapter to slot 0.
