I recall this topic has already been discussed some months ago. Have you tried to search for existing answers about this topic?

I also want a program that can convert between the files. If it's possible, coulden't those programs be put up on the emulator pages? Would be so much easier. The only thing I found was fmv to vmv.

A direct conversion of those formats is never trivial, because the different emulators are different - they emulate the system differently. The timings will differ and the movies will desync. It's trivial to do the file conversion (given a program to do it), but it will almost always require hex-editing to add/delete frames to fix the desyncing. EDIT: Here are the links to the previous discussions about this subject - both of them include a sample program of the process. Converting FMV to VMV Converting VMV to FMV

Would this be possible with ZMV to FMV do you think, well at least with the ones before the compression introduced after v0.989c (Is this the right version) because I have some files which I hate to load the DOS ZSNES and get the sound working right. I doubt it would be possible with the movie I'm mainly wanting to convert as it's the 100% Chrono Trigger run which lasts for eons and many possible desyncs along the way I'm guessing.

SNES (emulated by ZSNES, hence ZMV) and NES (emulated by Famtasia, hence FMV) are completely different systems.

I started writing a FMV<->FCM<->VMV<->NSM cross converter, but I got bored with it. If someone wants to finish it, here is the source code. I haven't tried to compile it yet (and it wouldn't do anything meaningful anyway - the main() is empty). http://bisqwit.iki.fi/src/nes-movie-convert.cc
