The GRN tends to advance with every frame, so redoing things like this will essentially require manipulating the RNG (again) for the entire run.

@Memory How is swapping discs hardware tampering? I find arbitrarily resetting the system and corrupting save data to be much more "damaging" to the hardware than swapping discs during gameplay.

I don't understand why disc swapping would be banned when resetting in the middle of saving is.

I thought FMV skipping was allowed for this game (according to TASvideos rules?)

Hey Jiseed, glad to see you are interested in updating the TAS of this game. I had done some work on a WIP of this and came up with a better menuing optimization at the beginning but didn't follow through. Merging my WIP with your submission and not carefully readjusting the RNG I get this movie User movie #50879242071405321 which is about 25 frames faster. There is probably a couple more frames that can be squeezed out of there by doing the encounter manipulation carefully. Feel free to take a look at it and update[/userfile]

So just for clarification, does this mean no disc swapping FMV trick in FF7, even though it has been shown to work on emulator exactly as it does on console?

He did a bunch of other random stuff he didn't need to do and didn't skip cutscenes.

Flameberger, I would recommend leaving it on the workbench and just asking for the submission to be set to delayed.

Why not just make it the default setting?

Publish as branchless, warp glitch can be called that (or game end glitch) if/when a run comes along to do that. Also yes vote from me.

Like Clock Tower, this should obsolete "any%" for fastest ending.

Awesome! I've been waiting for this for a long time! Can't wait to watch when I get home! One thing I must ask, however: is there a reason you didn't use the japanese version? Not only would you save plenty of on dialogue, but you would also benefit from the the stat glitch (as far as I am aware) would not change the game dramatically enough to warrant a separate branch. EDIT: Pre-emptive yes vote from me

In the next release of BizHawk, can we update the mGBA core to 0.6.2?
