Watching this movie doesn't help you plan strategies or anything. It's physically impossible.
You are right, but the main purpose of this site is not to get up strats for normal speedruns, it is just to provide entertainment, and to show how quickly a game can be beaten theoretically.
If you want to see human playing skill, get to SDA ( www.speeddemosarchive.com ).
no, it made me say to myself this guy claims he can beat it at lvl 7 by 'manipulating luck' which is total crap. movie after movie i watch and it's the same thing..there's no awe to it.
Again, if you do not like what you see, nobody's forcing you to watch these videos.
The chance of something like that movie happening is slim to none. You can't run through the whole game WITHOUT running into enemies, except when it seems fit for the player. And you can't get excellent move on EVERY single hit, and sleep works every time without them waking up. I do'nt know why these people think this is talent...
Yeah, it seems so. I tried different emulators and rom versions, but it's all the same. It sounded great on my SNES however. :)
The Genesis version is a viable alternative, but… you know the general difference between SNES and Genesis hardware capabilities, right? :\
Well, I know the Genesis version is slightly inferior, but I'd really prefer a run with (almost) proper sound. Was just pointing out this alternative, it's up to the runner.
Hm if you don't mind redoing what you did so far, I'd recommend using the Genesis version. Gens only seems to have problems with 2 songs (the Beethoven pieces :( ), and it's just that there's one track (right hand playing on piano, as I know these songs myself) missing on these songs, not that it's all messed up.
I think messed up sound takes quite some entertainment value.
But it's up to you what to choose.
Ever since I got the ROM, I have run into those same sound problems Zer0 described. Very annoying, considering the level music for Lerenzo's Soil is one of the only few good ones in this game.
I love pretty much all music in this game, really liked the usage of the 1st and 3rd movement of Beethoven's Sonata Quasi Una Fantasia :)
Some may say it's cheaply stolen and they couldn't come up with some own music, but I thought they did a good job :)
Anyway, the run looked great. I liked the part where you barely got to the clock before time ran out, as well as how you handled the second boss. Can't wait to see what you do for ISO 9000 and Level Ate (my favorite levels).
ditto, it was awesome when you hit the clock just in time :)
I was always fascinated by the level ISO 9000, just like I was with the End Of Time in Chrono Trigger.
Ok, I watched it. Looked very good :)
Uhm, my sound was fucked up though, I hope this was just because of my settings and not because you needed to do something with it for desyncworkarounds or something.
I'm highly awaiting more, have been interested in this for long, just always thought the puppy love levels would kill a movie of it, awaiting to see how you handle it.
Well, and for things like the quiz show; I'd say skip them as good as possible. If one wants to enjoy the game as a whole he should just play it, we are here to rush the games ;)
Well, but it's up to you how you do it.
I'm listening to all (well not all, I hardly like any black, death and grind) kind of metal genres for the most part, but open for very much.
For metal: I only like the music, I can't stand the culture around it.

could you make me a shirt that says "Fuck Metalheads, im here for the music"?

Weekly top artists from my last.fm ( http://www.last.fm/user/ExistenZer0/) :
Sonata Arctica, Georg Friedrich Händel, Michael Jackson, Opeth, Zonata, Symphony X, Ludwig van Beethoven, Metallica, Frédéric Chopin, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
You see, pretty mixed up; classical, pop, metal - all there.
My prediction for the future: I'll be listening to less metal, but much more jazz and classical.
I'm into a decent variety of "loud rock" music in general, such as punk, metal, and hardcore (some poppy versions of each too). Some examples: Propagandhi, Anti-Flag, Green Day, Deftones, Lamb of God, Glassjaw, Hopesfall, Horse The Band, Mindless Self Indulgence, Meshuggah, Hatebreed, Unearth, Sikth, Norma Jean, Nothingface, Pantera, Story of The Year.
I've only heard the 20 minutes long "I" so far, but it's fuckin' awesome. I'll be sure to check out more of their stuff soon.
Also, I really like piano rock, like Tori Amos, Elton John, The Dresden Dolls.
You guys should go listen to some real music.
Really, Immortal's good, but there's actually better.
Define "real music" ;)
Tastes are different.
And; different music at different moods, sometimes I want to listen to easy pop, sometimes I want to listen to complex Progressive Metal, Jazz or classical music.
I don't define one genre or band as "the real deal".
Edit: heh yeah noticed afterwards, alright ;)
ha, that's a good idea, but i think that's why twin galaxies require some of the video to be on the player's hands and pad. have to film yourself turning on the console and all. i guess it'd be possible, but it doesn't really make a difference if it's possible or not. it's not like that nullifies any significance in the time attack world.
I don't think they do require this, not everyone has a camcorder. I think you just need a plain VHS recording.
They've had some discussions over this on TwinGalaxies, and the judges said they have their bunch of tricks to test the legitimaty of the videos, if it was recorded on the real thing or an emulator.
well but.. the problem is.. emulator time attack, you cant prove it was played on 100% speed..also, i think there is a way to edit your rerecording count.. which make this hard to judge
Yupp, that's the problem with this, you can't just count on the player's honesty.
For fun and competitions in little circles it's nice, but for real competition it fails due to lack of real evidence. I think the speedrun competitions forum here is quite the right thing.
Suck someone up with kirby.
Fall off stage with them in your mouth.
Spit them out at the last second.
Sometimes you'll get the win :D. Works better with some stages and some opponets.
And I like playing Game and Watch best :o

"Looked slow and entertaining" heh
Weird game huh, voting yes, looked entertaining even though the main character walks like a snail.
I'm not sure I want to try this game, looked damn hard :P
