Here's a flash game with a few good glitches in it; The main challenge is the route. The game is found here: http://www.onemorelevel.com/games.php?game=174 Enjoy. I'll post my best time (by stopwatch) once some others have.

REally. you have to touch ground to reset the counter or you just gets loads of 1ups. so you can actually do that and get back in position? i haven't seen it doen anywher but on a stair in smb1, in smb2j you hop higher on stomps and it's easier i think (but harder to find a setup!)
it wasn't done on stairs. throw the turtle shell at a far away wall and wait until it comes back. jump on it so it stops and on it again so you throw it back at the wall. repeat for 3 minutes.
You can't combo by doing that (at least, not with a single shell); The bounce that starts the shell moving leaves you on the ground instead of bouncing, so you only get a flat 400-500 points per stomp. It's still better than smashing bricks or finishing early; On the other hand, you don't have to worry about 1-ups.

Why exactly do you need to go to the forest temple? You don't need the Bow if you have light arrows on B, right?
You do if you want to have any arrows.

Actually, I'd love to see a million point combo without manuals (I'm quite sure it's possible, tool assisted).

I used to call them Tool-Assisted Demos. I can also see where the 7.5 on King's Bounty comes from: 10 Technical (since it's all but proven perfect) and 5 Entertainment (It's doesn't stand out, but it's hard to get bored in 25 frames.

I do have a question about Dodongos cavern: in the previous run you simply used two bombchus, and the fish in a bottle trick, leading to the whole dungeon taking a very short amount of time to complete. here, you get the bomb bag, and used two bombs to activate the two eyes. why are these things done? Is it something to do with bottle adventure?
He needs the bombs in order to kill certain enemies in Ganon's Tower without using a sword. Once he has the bombs, it's quicker to use bombs to light the eyes than to use bombchus. He also cannot use the fish trick because he doesn't have a bottle.

Would it be quicker to teach Raticate Thunderbolt or Bubblebeam and use those on the ghosts than to switch for Gyarados? How much of a PP crunch does it cause earlier? EDIT:Here's also a cool PP-related glitch; I got this off Bulbapedia. Directions: 1)Learn Hyper Beam. Use all but 1 PP. 2)Use Hyper Beam in battle. It must hit, but cannot faint the opponent 3)The opponent must move first the next turn. It must use Bind, Wrap or Fire Spin and miss. 4)Use Hyper Beam again. (there will be no recharge period.) This will result in the PP counter wrapping, giving Gyarados 63 PP for Hyper Beam.

Last time I voted meh/no on a popular submission, I did not explain it for fear of getting personally flamed (instead of the normal anonymous flaming)

There must surely be a point of distance that causes the eel's 'leaving' motion to initiate, at this point you would stop, turn, and swim back. It seems as though the eel has already left by the time you stop and turn, which suggests that you have gone past this point of initiation.
The point of initiation seems to be when the eel passes a certain distance offscreen or changes rendering modes. If the former is correct, the fancy camerawork could speed things up, but in the second case, Mario absolutely has to go a certain minimum distance away.

Would it be worth it on the eel star to do the "Blast to the Stone Pillar" route and then long jump from that platform to save some slow swimming? My gut feeling says yes, but I'm not good enough with the pillar glitch to try.

I have had Zelda 3: A Link To The Past for a few years, but never got past the Book of Mudora (I never found the peg boots. I spent several hours trying everything I could think of.). I watched the glitched run today and beat the game for the first time after about an hour of backwalking practice. I beat it again 10 minutes later. That's quite an improvement.

Can you roll off a ledge and then jump in midair in this game? Every Rare game I've played which lets me roll has this glitch.

JSmith, you can't do that with that box because as soon as you grab it, mario jumps 3 times and break the box. Snowman's lost his head.... ???? how hard is that? not much i guess. i bet i can do it on console :P
I thought there was a normal box out there somewhere. But apparently there isn't.

I have completed the game coinless, but I used a metal cap on both jet stream stars and a cannon on "Blast to the Stone Pillar".

I do not have access to it right now, but at my next chance I may test the following strat: Eye to Eye in the secret room-Grab the crate outside the mansion and MIPS Glitch (if possible???) inside. Hop up the staircase and MIPS glitch into the room leading to the third floor. Double jump and bounce off two books to reach the third floor. Finally, MIPS glitch into the secret room and grab the star. This fails if: 1)The crate does not exist (I have not played that part of the course in a while) 2)The crate cannot be used to glitch (I have never tried it with a crate before) 3)The entrance to the Secret Room cannot be glitched through (No one has ever tried that I know of) 4)Bouncing off the books fails to give enough height, or the books cannot be lured into the right position (unlikely with tools)

That reminds me, you can jump at the end of a speed strip to make the boost last longer. It only helps on the first strip in Royal Raceway, though.

Given that it's a test run, you should do it with 2 to see if/when/how much Floyd saves time.

I'd like to see you suck one polygon in and spit 'em at someone else, possibly multiple elses and possibly onto a live Bob-omb. Also, (you're probably tired of hearing this by now but) try to manipulate a Star Clear. EDIT: and if the spit trick sends DK off the top, so much the better.

what I need to do is figure out how to incorporate that proximity mine for another 12,000 points. ideas? I have two polygons falling down at the same time, do I plant it and cutter/stone them into it?
If you want to be flashy, cutter 'em up into it. Otherwise, it would look impressive if you suck one of them in in midair, drop level with the other one to mine level and spit one into the other (KOing the non-spat one with the spat one) onto the mine (which then explodes, possibly on both). Suck-and spit does 37% total double mine damage. How much does Cutter do? For bonus points, you can cutter up an earlier DK, suck-and spit it into both falling ones, then have the mine blow up all three. (60% damage plus minex3... more points than No Item) EDIT:I think you may have to kill all of them with proximity mines to get the bonus...

yes that's what I was thinking... the ony restriction is for cutter, does that count as an aerial attack if you start it on the ground or hanging on a ledge? and are spikes possible in Mario Bros?
Ground, no. Ledge, I think so, but I'm not sure. Spikes, definitely; in fact, try sucking Mario in in midair, spitting him out across the edge(still in midair) and spike 'em from there.
... but of course, 1 time unit = 50 points so yeah that tradeoff is good
Also, keep in mind you can get extra damage points on Master Hand by reducing it to 1HP and then causing a lot of damage at once, or by causing damage after the game takes away input control.
I should end the Polygon team at 3:33 to get an extra bonus there, I can definetly get way faster times than the other two high score runs, however I will not be able to match nico's 4:24. but 3:33 gives some extra time for items, should be managable, plus give me 9990 points.
It also allows you to rack up a large amount of damage on a couple of polygons; Sucking and spitting doesn't send them flying very far. Yoshi could take even more advantage of this by turning them into eggs...

Yeah, perfect. The "mario's legs sticking out of the ceiling" referred to a spot right before entering wet-dry world the first time. The TTC one was supposed to be in the "roll into the cage" star right before Mario starts to ground pound glitch through the rotating platform, but I really like your version, too.

Kirby Ranks in pacifist mode is going to be TRICKY
Well, if you can lure/trick/suck drop them even slightly underneath the stage, they go crazy flying towards the middle. You can always get them to kill each other, possibly with bob-ombs, red shells and mines, and I think if you get one to suicide drop another one it gives you them in the correct order 2 times in 3. I think red shell may be your best bet. EDIT:Yoshi Rainbow(50000)+Hawk(15000)=Yoshi Rainbow(50000)+All Variations(15000)>Pacifist(60000) If it lasts long enough, also tack on Mew Catch or Star Clear.

Hit Z rapidly while moving streight forward to make deku link slide forward on one foot. Also, show off the glitch where the camera gets turned around when you're backwalking.
