That reminds me... Does anyone think there should be a way to change your vote after you've already voted? Because, I mean, what if you change your mind? You'd be stuck!

Well, I don't remember exactly, but I think it was some conversation on IRC where somebody was saying one Kirby game emphasized Kirby's butt-kicking side, while another emphasized Kirby's cute side. And I was thinking about how in half the games, you have a few powers that you can combine with animals or other powers, while in the other half, you just get lots and lots of individual powers. And the "combine powers" games were the ones with Dark Matter rather than some other villain. But maybe this isn't true anymore, because I haven't been keeping up with these crazy new games where Kirby splits into 4 Links or whatever, although I did try that one game where Kirby gets his limbs amputated so you have to draw bridges for him.

That's almost as silly as when I started acting like there were two different Kirby series!
Oh yeah, and the ending of this game is great, because it makes the other games' plots seem worthless. Yup. Fun game movie to speed-read.

That sounds too much like just setting a minimum time for completion, which also messes up plain old speedrunning. And again, if you could somehow detect a glitch, why wouldn't you correct it right then and there so it wouldn't even be a glitch anymore? (Also, I will backup my save externally, ha ha!)

Hey how come you shot the houdai cannons in NeedleMan but bumped into them in WoodMan? And did you test any different level orders and um, places to stick Rush?

Okay, well, I'm still going to play through the game another time or two so I can refamiliarize myself with it and provide more help when you're ready to make the run.

It can speed up the game if a shot takes longer to leave the screen than it takes for the boss to be hit by another attack, or if the player needs to save ammo for a later level.

Yeah... I would think the main challenge with Movie to Game is deciding how closely to stick to the story to keep it recognizable while still letting players make their own decisions about where to go and what to do.

Did you try it at 638.5 pixels? :)

It time to watch the Movie about the Fantasy. You can find your movie in the VHS tape, or the DVD. You can record your own movie about the games. You can channel it on Youtube. Some channels have movie on your TV Guide. You can enjoy watching the movie that its appropriate age.

Super Mario Bros: The Movie
While I don't remember much about this movie, I know I got lost watching because it wasn't really Mario... nor did it really follow the storyline. And I don't remember a machine that makes people (or rather, koopas) smarter. Or for that matter, people used flamethrowers and those devo-guns or whatever they were called. At least there was Yoshi! He was cuuute. <3
Well see, Super Mario World was the newest thing at the time, and it was set in Dinosaur Land, so they had to do something crazy involving dinosaurs. That's also why the cartoon version had cavemen in it, because cavemen + dinosaurs = brilliant cartooning. EXCEPT IT WASN'T REALLY DINOSAUR LAND IT WAS DRAGON LAND, GOSHDANGIT

I have no faith in the video-game-based-movie genre.
That's why I'm surprised that Meepers's list is so long... After all the junk we've gotten, I thought the studios had low faith too. (Oh yeah, I forgot to make my "Wasn't Van Helsing the Castlevania movie?" joke.) And where are my Mega Man and Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movies, huh?
Anyway, I'm more interested in seeing if the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie turns out to be any good!

Oh yeah, I remember this old site http://www.world-of-nintendo.com/Content/Game_Challenges_-_NES
But like most stuff on that site, it's just junk that random people came up with off the top of their heads. Also, they changed it to some weird format where all games are linked, but you don't know if a game has any entries until you click on it and find yourself on the edit page.

Mechuyael seems to think that the choice of starter Pokemon is equivalent to a difficulty selection screen. I don't think it's a very valid comparison, because you pick the Pokemon after you've already "started" the game, the game doesn't explicitly say one is easier or harder than another to use, all the Pokemon have their own strengths and weaknesses that make the relative "ease" of using them debatable, and you can always catch more Pokemon anyway.
