Hoho you missed that one, try another!

Game objectives

  • Emulator used: BizHawk 2.9.1
  • uses easy mode (only affects reaction time of enemies)

Comments

This is using the SegaCD version of the game as MAME doesn't work well with LaserDisc games yet.
Also due to a limitation in the Genesis core, I can't actually use the light gun since it's impossible to shoot off screen to reload. I opted for joypad inputs instead, which one silver lining is that the screen wont flash for shots.

General notes

Since this game is mostly straight forward, I'll just note some things about the game.
This uses
It's faster to let the prospector get shot in the beginning. His explanation of getting the keys at the Saloon takes a bit. However we will see him again later as he doesn't actually die.
Sometimes you can shoot enemies early before the camera locks in place. Also some cutscenes can be skipped if they don't contain any important information for later.
The biggest problem with optimizing this game has to do with the random enemy spawns in some levels. You can sometimes change RNG if you delay shooting enemies, but most of the time you can't. I tried to get what I could, but I wouldn't be surprised if those sections can be done faster.
In joypad mode, you can hold down the B and C buttons to move your cursor fast. holding B will be fast, holding C will be faster, and holding both B and C is fastest.
You don't need to save the prospector from the TNT trap in order to get the hideout map (since he tells you what you need to shoot to disable the booby traps in the mine), but you do need to get the map to go to the hideout, since the game prevents you from going there no matter what.

eien86: Claiming for judging.

eien86: Nice movie, stranger, try another one
No visible sub-optimality in either routing or execution. Finally I get to see the end of this game that I used to play (to little success) as a child when I first me and my brother got a CD-ROM drive.
Accepting to Standard
