WARNING: There is blood/minor gore and a small jumpscare in a few scenes that may disturb some viewers.
I've wanted to make a short a somewhat larger TAS for Halloween and this was the result.
Routing: I can finally talk about techniques that make this not really trivial.
  • After skipping the cutscene, for the very first floor, there's only one area I can bypass which is the page for the red button combination. (1 click right, 2 left, 3 right, 5 left, 8 right)
  • I get the stick and the paper to use the stick on the portrait revealing letters for the 3rd floor. Then, I use the paper in the water to show kanji characters that each room has for the corresponding order. (UFP) This part is forced as nothing will happen if I put in the code immediately and this rule applies for another code later on.
  • I grab the axe and head to the elevator and now it's time to talk elevator techniques. I can interact with any available item in my inventory during the transition of the elevator. This means that anytime I have to use an item later on, I can select on it during the elevator transition and that saves me a frame per item.
  • This is where some blood comes in. I use the axe to defeat the blood monster blocking the path to the 3rd floor. I take the key and go back up to the first floor to use the key on the locker. After that, I get the cloth to dampen it and place it on the wall to reveal the clue for the letter portrait. Performing all of this now unlocks my access to enter a code with a proper response.
  • I head back down to the 3rd floor to execute the restricted code and the unrestricted code (Restricted, "wish". Unrestricted, 3584) Keep in mind that there's a delay for actually opening the drawers. Now that I have the teddy bear and the key, I use the key for up above and head to the left side and grab a wooden box.
  • The wooden box includes a lock with all card suits in a row of 7. (S, D, H, S, H, D, S). I wait for the transition to end and grab the water bottle. Then, we head to the 2nd floor to give the teddy bear to a ghost (Jumpscare area) in which I receive a black flower.
  • During the elevator transition to the 1st floor, I double click the flower to show it and use the water bottle on the flower to make it white. I have to wait 4 frames before clicking the water bottle or else the bottle will appear in front of the black flower and not do anything. Now, I wait for the transition to be finish so that I close when the white flower appears in my inventory.
  • I give the white flower to the woman who unlocks the bars on the 2nd floor. Get the chair and go back up. I place the chair in the coordinated position while the red child escapes. (Minor gore warning here and for the final cutscene) The exit is on the ceiling which we need the elevator to unlock by selecting up. Finally, we climb up the chair and leave the room.
Future Comments: My next submission will most likely be Prince of Persia: Special Edition without the menu exploit. :)

DrD2k9: Claiming for judging.
DrD2k9: Judging from encode based on sync-verified status. Nice to see an escape room game TAS that (at least partly) requires actually discovering the solutions to codes before they can be used. Nothing apparently sub-optimal to me. Accepting.
