SNES Super Ice Hockey. Fastest win. Ends input early. The human player is the red team.
  • Emulator used: BizHawk 2.9.1
  • Genre: sports
  • Goal: win a game (exhibition mode)
  • Aims for fastest time (ends input early)
  • Manipulates luck
There is no skill setting, so there is no need to go to the options. Changing the period length from 2 minutes to 1 minute takes too much time, so let's just begin the game immediately and hope for the best. The probability that the opponent makes no goals seems to be about 20%. Changing the camera angle or player movement at any time will affect the shot and the match outcome.
1 frame is used on changing the teams. This can be reduced to 0 if you find an equally fast solution that makes a goal and wins the game without changing the teams.
30 in-game frames are used on making the goal. Probably some frames can be saved, if you brute-force all combinations.

Japanese version

I made an alternative TAS with the Japanese version: https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638616529866136952
I was able to make a goal and end input in 992 frames in the Japanese version, but all games lost even when I tried many variations, so I have to stop now and accept the 999 frames version. Probably 992 frames or lower can be done by brute-forcing all combinations.
I don't know which version is better, so I leave it to the experts.

eien86: Claiming for judging.

eien86: Yet another abuse of less than competent hockey AI. This one too is well executed and, although there might be room for improvements by means of botting, looks pretty much at the limits of manual TASing.
Either version (J or E) is acceptable, and it makes sense here to go with the author's choice. Even when the J version might be faster.
Regarding goal. Here "exhibition mode" is the expected standard submission for this kind of game. If there is a 'career' or 'tournament mode', those would be alternative (yet totally valid) goals.
Accepting to Standard
