EDIT: By using 2 players, this TAS has been improved by 99 frames: https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638329012221102890
About the Game(s):
Action 52 is an unlicensed game made for the NES and Sega Genesis, featuring - you guessed it - 52 different video games. The NES version was published in 1991, whereas the Genesis version was published in 1993. Both versions were published by Active Enterprises.
Knockout is game 20/52 in the Sega Genesis version of Action 52. This is a 2 player game with blue and red boxers fighting each other for 9 rounds. You play as the blue boxer.
About the TAS:
This TAS aims for Any%, which means completing all 9 levels.
Menuing:
After waiting through a short pre-menu screen, skipping the Action 52 cutscene and going through the menu to select “20. KNOCKOUT” we can start the game on frame 442.
Gameplay/Tech:
In the blue corner, we have LogansGamingRoom! And in the red corner, we have yet another CPU that never got programmed!
Due to this common fault of the Action 52 series, we can approach the red boxer and then spam punch as fast as the game allows (once every 30 frames) for some quick victories. And because the CPU never does anything or the physics are never changed - unlike Armor Battle, where the bullet's movement is changed for some reason - we can essentially copy and paste the inputs for all 9 rounds.
And That’s It!
This TAS is very trivial, so it more than likely can't be improved.
Thanks for reading.
nymx: Claiming for judging.
nymx: Replacing with an improved movie.
nymx: I'm not sure who is tougher here...the guy throwing the punches, or the one taking them. Seems to me that player 2 won this battle for being tougher; however, it could just be brain damage.
Accepting.
