'Wait, isn't this just the same level played 7 times in a row'. Ha, obviously.
A Simple Platformer Game is a homebrew game that is exactly what the title implies. The game only features a single unique level design with the aim of the game being to reach the 'kill screen' after playing a series of variations of the same level that changes slightly, sometimes visually and sometimes the controls flip to make it more difficult.
Overall, it's basically just the same set of inputs copied for every level. The only different level in terms on inputs is the reversed level but this TAS isn't anything exciting or special.

DrD2k9: Claiming for judging.
DrD2k9: Optimization for the actual gameplay portions is good. I did find that it's possible to skip the "loading" screens by pressing the start button. Implementing this saves 333 frames over the course of the run. I've updated the submission file with this movie. I'm not claiming co-authorship as it's not really a 'gameplay' improvement.
This is from the game manual:
OBJECTIVE: Win the game until you get to the kill screen

CONTROLS:
Control Pad: Move left and right
A Button: Jump

EXTRA CHALLENGE:
Find the "real" kill screen that will crash the game for real
While this submission does reach the stated objective of reaching the labeled "kill screen" as an ending, the game does loop beyond that point. I was able to copy/paste inputs to complete multiple loops, but I have not been able to determine if the looping ever ends or how to reach the "real" kill screen that will crash the game for real as stated in the "Extra Challenge."
Accepting as-is with the caveat that I believe a run managing to achieve the Extra Challenge "real" kill screen should obsolete this run.
