This movie obsoletes my previous submission. Now that's a limit, I've done here.
You know, last time I said this movie can't be improved by more than a second. Guess I was terribly wrong. :) Forget old version and take another look at my TAS.
This week I fully remastered every boss battle (using hexeditor to cut/paste best moments, thanks for Bisqwit's Nesmock! it made the process much easier) and removed some minor slowdowns in scrolling part/select screens. Also I've found how to manipulate bosses not only with quick pausing (and this foundation saved 6 of 8 seconds).
Thus, the movie became much better:
  • 478 (8 sec) frames less (and to think I was hoping to cut just 20-30 frames)
  • boss battles became more interesting to watch (still too much non-stop punching, but it's the fastest way to finish them)
  • levels now look almost like autoscrolling game (only few unavoidable slowdowns remain)
  • every action is verified and aimed on some purpose (in the previous version there were some wasted shots and jumps higher than needed)
  • strange enough, filesize of .FCM reduced very disproportionaly - from 17170 to 10947 bytes. (let's think it's because of FCM compression casualities, but still strange)
  • и что самое интересное - после полусотни однообразных прохождений я по-прежнему считаю эту игру лучшей ходилкой на NES! ;)
AARGH! Did it again.
