This game is bested only by FF7! It's excellent!

True, FF7 is the best, but I'd go for FF4 as my second favorite. Though FF3 was a great game!

Shite ita ka? (Well, we should probably stick to English in these forums, but you have my email if you feel like chatting some in Japanese.) It seems there are plenty of Japanese language students among us video game nerds. :)

I'd rank FF3 over FF7 as my favorite of the series.

[Thread hijacking!] I do not think that avoiding kanji is a very good idea at all if you intend to learn japanese beyond the most basic conversation. They form the primary basis for the language and its entire lexicalic structure. Practically speaking, it's absolutely impossible to grasp the bloated japanese vocabulary without being able to decompose words into kanji. I realise that it's not very fun to slave away at memorising them for hours, but any japanese course that opts out kanji (or, even worse, uses rômaji for any significant length of time - ick!) is just doing you a disfavor. You'll not learn the language that way. 詰まり;漢字は朋。漢字を信じて。漢字は学生の生き血。 [/Thread hijacking!] In my opinion, FFVI/III is the best jRPG ever made. Fine, FFX is prettier, Xenogears has better (well, more, at least) characterisation, Grandia tops its battle system and FFIV/II is the more impressive epic. But neither they nor any other game has managed to combine all the elements that constitute jRPG goodness into one seamless, flawless whole like FFVI did. It's as close to perfection as the genre has gotten. So, err, yeh. I've played a lot of Final Fantasy VI :p

A better question would be: Who doesn't play ff6j/3 much?

Sukoshi dekimasu. I'm impressed how much you was able to say with so simple words I could understand. I certainly lack excersize...

Yeah, when I posted my message, I was thinking FF3 for the NES, not FF6. I never really cared much for 6. First time I tried it, I played half way through, got bored, and quit. Then a few years later I managed to get all the way through the game and wasn't too impressed. It's ok, but not that good in my opinion, which of course isn't shared by many. :)

Came from the "Ender's Game" books from Orson Scott Card. Anyone who's into sci-fi MUST read those. :D

Yeah, a lot of people do, since it's likely more people have played FF6 than have read "Ender's Game".

See, this is why publishers should not confuse people with arbitrary numeral changes when publishing abroad. At least the topic was not Tales of Destiny II... :) I must admit that I gave up on the NES FF-games after Final Fantasy IIj, which was a wee bit horrible. Never got as far as III. What's to like about it?

It's more like FF1, except with a better plot, much longer, actual side quests, and a primitive job system like in FF5. I'd say it's probably one of the best games for the NES, and definately the best RPG for it. If you can find a translated rom, download it, you won't regret it.

I prefer Dragon Warrior series on NES than FF ones.

Yeah! Tureddo haijakku shiyo! Sen ji gurai no kanji o benkyou shita ga, yoku imi shika benkyou shinakatta. Takusan kanji no "puronanshieeshan" ga dekinai. So, we have another Japanese speaker, Xerophyte. Do you study at the Japanese program in Gothenburg? ------ Oh, and that FF game too. Yeah, I'm gonna play it some day.

Yeah, I couldn't bring myself to play through FF2, but don't let that discourage you from playing ff3. It's way better, certainly worth at least trying.

You hate FF7? It's just like a much better version of FF3 with better graphics. The esper system was changed to the materia system. It is still very similar, but better and easier to understand. Game is awesome.
