It's cool I'm not saying you shouldn't have publish that fmv file but instead i was wondering what is the reason you haven't put avi of it available..? FMV has been on the page for some time and i'm sure there are peeps who would gladly watch it...
Boco: How could I know version 3 is coming? Where is it mentioned....? btw i liked your Zelda 2 run :)
Okie that makes sense
but it's copy-paste from that other Zelda 2 thread which i haven't read until now so i didn't know about it =)
btw is it much longer run if you get the candle? because you have to fight through dark caves so many times in the game
Yep, the fighting in caves is irrelevant with rerecording, but it does not look as sweet if you can't see anything but random movement and jumps. :)
You have to weight the entertainment value of that against the entertainment value lost by getting the candle.
Personally I would enjoy a movie that gets the candle more I think. But that's just me.
I've got the ROM and the infamous disksys.rom file for FDS cartridges to work properly. But after the selection screen, it gets all black and it says "CHANGE SIDE B".
What does that mean and I'm supposed to do to start playing ?
I use RockNES.
You are supposed to eject the disk, change sides and reinsert the disk.
I don't know how to perform those operations in RockNES.
Familiarize yourself with the emulator you're using.
Its something weird i must have to see that movie can someone help so i can look at that movie? pls

I think if we are going to do this RIGHT, we should have some standards in place NOW regarding ROM availability. This one is VERY hard to find. Cant someone do this on the U or E Version? I cant watch AVI's at 10x! :) It's odd that this is the only one that is a famicom disk. If we are trying to build an archive here, lets do it right....

I think it should be.
Uhm why? Just download the video when it has got made.
If you want the ROM, I have an easy step-by-step process for you.
The disk sells for about $28 on eBay. A broken Famicom Disk System (with the drive belt snapped) sells for even less. Once you've obtained both of those, it's a simple matter of tapping the chip on the disk system for the bios, repairing the belt, and reading the data from the disk.
This is, by the way, the only legal solution. ROMs you find that you didn't dump yourself aren't legal (at least, under US law - YMMV).
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster.
I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.

leagal... Smeagol ( I've always wanted to say that....) well I think that any hardcore gamer, like one interested in speedruns or time attacks in the first place.... would be wiling somewhat to help with the seeding of files via BitTorrent, as It's not that hard to limit your upload to a reasonable rate. This leaves a POSSIBLE opening for helping with distributionof the FMVs, OTHER than the site... however to go back to the topic at hand... oh yea, these same hardcore gamers I mentioned probably would also be able to get the ROM rather easily, so the fact of
common ROM availablility
here is moot, i think, because if you're that dedicated to be WANTING to watch... you'll find a way.
<***NOTICE to the RIAA MPAA, and my ISP> You cannot stop me.. I can and will sell my rotten egg-salad sandwich on eBay!!! Try to STOP THAT
Edit: Corrected spelling... no i didn't and won't decide to eliminate the madness
But that really doesn't make time attacks easier. The US version can be run faster because the Fairy can pick up items - in the Japanese version, you have to go out of the way to pick up keys in order to get the Holy Glove, Holy Boots, Raft, etc.
I consider merely flying a screen out of your way significantly easier than not always fighting with a maxed out sword. Slower, true, but easier ... just another reason to time attack the American version.
Here is an interesting site.....*cough*fds*cough*
And here is an interesting rule
Posts that contain pointers to law-breaking sites (porn, warez, roms, etc) are not allowed.
Edit: Lol, now Bisqwit made it look like I think his list of rules is law-breaking.
I need this timeattack nooooow!
(Nah, seriously, I can wait, but this is the time attack that I have been anticipating the most the last almost 2 months.)
If you need it now, watch the version 2 video that's already posted :-þ
I'm doing the other one in my spare time, and between FFTA, Calc II, volunteering at the library, watching Code: Lyoko, and the BSSM DVDs I just got in the mail, that spare time isn't giving the video much progress XD Like, 2 minutes of finished product a day, maybe...
I'll be done eventually~~

What is the disksys.rom i cant get my copy of link no bouken to play because it gives me some error about disksys.rom you said you have it, what is it and where can i get it. and how could i get this rom to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
what is it and where can i get it
Even though disksys.rom is not an actual game, it's still considered to be a ROM so requesting it here is not allowed.
Edit: Bisqwit, you should probably add that into the rules by saying something like "ROM requests are not allowed. (this includes the fds bios image called disksys.rom)" so people know not to ask for it.
