I don't have much of an update for you, as i've been really busy lately and haven't been able to find a large enough block to do sufficient testing. I've noticed a small error in the run exiting Ridley which has to be fixed. However, I'm working on Mother Brain before I do that. I would like to be able to get through all of Mother Brain's room without having to leave the room to get more missles, but to do this I require one of the red rinkas to drop a super missle. Which is something which I cannot get to happen, no matter what I try. If I can do this, it's possible I may even be able to pick up one less missle tank, and save another 5 seconds or so.

Am I the only one getting tired of "Am I the only one getting tired of "Are you still working on this" posts" posts? Err... I mean... I don't see the harm in asking when it's been at least a couple of months with nothing at all posted, for a game as well-known as this. The answer's usually "I still don't have time" but maybe it'll spark renewed interest in the game or something. EDIT: Apparently it didn't, oh well...

Wow, this really isn't an active forum, but anyways, why havn't anyone done something like this, I think it might turn out really cool if someone attempts to do a serious demo of this. http://rapidshare.de/files/9061959/Metroid_Zero_Mission.vbm.html Note: This is not a serious attempt, and probably the worst movie file ever posted on the Nesvideos discussion forums.

For those who don't sit in IRC, I haven't stopped working on this, i've just been busy lately. Once I find time to work on it, it won't be long.

With the recent amounts of updates on Metroid games I got to thinking about this game... I was hoping despite what it seems that this has not yet been abandond?

A 9% run in particular would be good to watch.

I haven't abandoned this run, I do indeed plan to finish it eventually. Unforuntunately, i've been spending alot of time on WoW (and school) trying to down C'thun over the past few weeks. As a result I haven't touched the run in a long while. However, now that they have toned down the encounter it probably won't be too long before things calm down some and I can work on it again.

As I've already said, this is one excellent run. The optimization is simply astounding; at such a pace it may even rival the completion time of the any%. Looking forward to the boss fights.

Maybe the currently published any%, but I doubt it because of the Ridley and Mother Brain fights. Funny though, as soon as I wrote 'who said diagonal bomb jump was quickest' I knew exactly what you did without watching, heh. tdk, if you need any help with the route for 100% let me know. I had gone through and planned a bunch of it for TAS tricks, but I don't really have time to do the run anymore. Plus, I think I would probably have more fun working on that then the run itself now heh.

Not to derail the topic, but you could at least post some progress reports on your Fusion run. ;)

Heh, well, I haven't compared it to deign yet, but in my opinion it looks pretty good. I'm still in sector 1.

Hehe, TDK, you make me nervous. I hope you don't obsolete my run when I get up to like Ridley or something, that'd be depressing. =) PJ, wish I could help you the way you've been scrutinizing mine, but I just can't see any room for improvement. It's looking great and I'm lookin forward to more.

Deign, it's not as bad as you think. It's worse when you obsolete your own run when you are at Ridley ;p The WIP you saw was version 13 ;p

You see, when you work on fusion for over half a year and have to keep starting over, you go crazy, and you want to get the run done as soon as possible with any means possible, which means I won't be posting my wip (so you won't learn any new "tricks").

o thats not what i'm worried about. I just don't want to work on this for 3-4 months and find out you're like 6000 frames faster than me or something.

Yeah... I kinda gave up on my "planned" low% run after PJ started his.
Even the best player is limited by the speed of his fingers, or his mind's ability to control them. But what happens when speed is not a factor, when theory becomes reality?

By the way, does anyone still have the movie I made of this game? I would like to watch it now, 9 months after I made it. To see how crappy it was.
