Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world. Every nation should have it's army, especially when there's someone bigger and badder going around and invading countries (if you don't live there you know what country i'm talking about). If it wasn't mandatory then hardly anybody would serve...

How about something much simpler: In a 2-player game the exact same input for both players.
This is what i call "lazy execution of a 2 players game TAS"

DS emulator sucks, how can you use the touch screen + a controller? the mouse is way too far from whatever you choose for a D-pad

I bet Arne and JXQ had some garbage runs that they didn't want to submit before they were satisfied with the quality. Which is ok, but it's also good to post WIPS and discuss at the game threads, so you can get feedback before finishing.

We use modified emulators here. So it's useless to look in the official emulator sites (most of the time). You need to download the emulator from us.

Awesome idea!!! but hear me out: I think this would be cool if there was a TAS video playing in the back, and the player would just try to copy the TAS movement in the controller. The game would then tell him the score he got. This isn't interaction with the game itself, let's say, super mario bros. The player in this case is just dancing to the TAS, much like what DDR is about. You don't actually compose the song, but you dance to it. So, you choose a movie, the game starts and you try to do the input, but you don't change what happens in the screen. The input you have to copy is exactly that which happened in the movie. This would be awesome if you could have multiple TASes to choose, and classified in difficulty levels. I think this would be a great game.

I've seen many people on zbattle and forums complaining that the nitro eats up faster in the emulator (zsnes), i've always said this is impossible, but maybe there's a flaw on the emulator that affects the fuel consumption.

- i've already measured and it's not faster to do any of the 100 coins in the 16 star run. so no, don't get all stars in whomp's fortress. - 2:17 is pretty awesome for a speedrun. - this TAS should be about 1:50 long. - i'll get back to working on this in 3 weeks or so.

If you're talking about jammer01's post, i didn't take it that way, it's just that we only have 1 thread for mario 64 (well there's the ccless thread) and it can get a little crowded here. Let's just try to keep this organized.

that star was just a little slower than using the cannon. but what is the point of discussing this now? unless someone wants to work on the 16 stars run now... I'll work on it anyway after this one is finished. But first I gotta finish this.

it's not exactly the same, there are various differences, including 5 more worlds. adventure island is more like a remake of wonder boy the missed shots are necessary to jump low.

I'd watch a quickest possible KO on street fighter 2 when player 2 is willing to help.
