Oh, like a computer can recognize sarcasm Algorithm recognizes sarcasm with an accuracy rate of 80 percent http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37383671/ns/technology_and_science-innovation/ This was particularly funny: "Tsur's attempt to program a sarcasm detector started as a joke. When he was a University freshman, he received an e-mail that thanked him for his previous contributions to an annual conference and asked him to be that year's program chair. The email was clearly intended for someone else, but Tsur thought it was funny, so he responded with what he thought was an obviously sarcastic tone. His reply was taken seriously. "They allowed me to postpone the deadline for submission and asked me what I was working on," Tsur said. "I wrote back that I was working on detecting irony in email. They didn't get that either.""

Zsnes allows 5 people to play simultaneously over the internet, as long as they use only 2 computers.

http://3dnes.blogspot.com/ I found it pretty impressive. There are differences in the way the game works, but it's very interesting! I couldn't get past the skeleton in the dungeon though, and it gave me a game over please restart message.

I remember something like this having been discussed years ago here as well. Anyways, my response back then and now is still: Final Fantasy (style of JRPG) + Tekken (style of combat). Tekken-type games are boring in the long run, at least in single-player mode. What would make them significantly more interesting would be if there was an involved storyline and gameplay outside of the fighting. A JRPG-style game with Tekken-style encounters would be the optimal. In JRPGs you usually learn new skills and get new armor, weapons and accessories as you advance. This could work well with Tekken-style fighting, not only in the form of weapons and armor, but also in the form of unlocking new, more effective combos.
You can try "Tobal" and "Shaolin", both for psone. Maybe you know these games, they feature a quest mode resembling a mix of jrpg and 3d brawler.

There was that custom super mario bros game AI contest some time ago, the results were impressive, maybe you can find something about it. There are videos on youtube.

Is it too rude to think this is a blatantly trolling thread?

I pronounce it the way any brazilian would if reading it as a word. "Like the 'Dazs' in Häagen-Dazs. Except with a T." this.

That kind of thing is so common in art school. I am impressed that it's getting million views. Maybe I should record something... I must give props to the pumpkin carving though, that one looks difficult.

The game you posted is very good, PS. I did 95% of the normal difficulty in a single sitting. I thought I had done 100%... I'll play more later, if I have time.

I've played a lot of world of goo and it's a strong, polished, complete game, I don't think it has an indie feeling, it's perfect. I can't talk about the other games.

That's great for us, but I hope it isn't a sign of them having financial difficulties. The video also made me laugh. I'll go ahead and buy it too, although I already have world of goo. (oops it rhymed).

If opinion matters, mine is that you should not move files around, just execute them in a "read-only" manner, at least until the game has started.

Found this on another forum, it was an old idea of mine, so I am glad to see it done! I found the physics to be pretty good with every character. The game is really well made with a lot of attention to detail! Wow, when you enter the pipe you get a different music from the characters' game. I had a lot of fun playing it. I think it's one of the best flash games there is. I don't think the point is for every character to be at all times useful, I think it's a neat implementation of a dream come true (seriously). You can see how would each character behave on some other character's game! I'd go as far as saying that it is fun to finish the game picking only the same character on all levels, and do it with all characters. You get a different game every time. Kudos to whoever made it, on the other forum where I found it everyone loved it. Also, what is the point of playing it as Mario?? Why would anyone choose mario?

I guess that if the movie file can run on an official release of the game then there's no problem that it was recorded on a modified version (for acceptance on this website). But I'm no judge, mind you.

What? YOU made it? Where's the full information about it? Wasn't it supposed to be made public as an atari 2600 rom at one of the "I am 8-bit" event editions?
