it's slow and straightforward, unless u do something sneaky like avoiding an enemy, it's not gonna be very interesting.

it's an easy game to rec with re-recording, it can be completed with less than 400 re-resavings. that's why i stopped :P new emulator should be out soon

hmmm i give up, the game is too slow, IMO the movie should be recorded at 2x game speed cause there ain't much happening in the game's actual 5 fps... i thought the game would be fast cause nothing much happens on the game, but i was wrong. i recorded 14 minutes and there's still 2/5 or so to be done. i could say it's a 30 minutes game, easily. sometimes i tried to record it at double speed but it caused desync. so i split those 14 minutes into 10 records and played at regular speed. my time can't be improved by more than a few seconds. i'm sure. but i'll just wait for the re-recording emulator, cause this is too much trouble.

there are no stages... at least it doesn't display anything, it doesn't even say level complete, it just lands to give extra points for accumulated powers. i don't know how many times i landed, and i think the game is better measured in time passed, as it is impossibe to change how long u take to get to each section (unless u die). i don't know exactly where it starts repeating, as it does not go back to the very start of the game. unless i'm mistaken and it does not repeat a whole section, but the incoming enemies patterns repeat. you can continue from where i stopped on the movie, if you have the guts. it was very hard at that point (so i had to waste 2 helpers in order to get through the 2 big tanks).

it doesn't end. and i missed it on purpose cause i kept shooting the roof for the 10 points score, it was just a test anyway to check how long it took to end. but it's an infinite game. i played for 24 minutes that's damn long for a slow repetitive game :)

he means that the best kind of video doesn't mean the fastest possible run, but a perfectly made entertaining video.

k, here. i think i miss a tank on the first screen. i wanted to keep shooting that roof that gives 10.000 points + 10 each hit, so i ignored the tank. but that's the only enemy i missed. i used red helpers for a long time and i didn't want to use bombs untill i had to. at a moment i lose both helpers, just before getting them back, then i land and stop the movie. EDIT: link doesnt work anymore

the movie doesn't need to have perfect quality, i remember the morimoto smario 3 movie was just understandable and i found it amazing. if people want a perfect movie quality they should get the fmv...

fmv is a file used on the famtasia emulator. you would need it and also the game rom in order to watch the video. good luck finding the rom... avi will be available soon, i believe. i'm trying to make a very compact version (140 mb is too much, and that run is shorter than mine)

you can get to the clock-tower section just with the wolf power. go to the elevator, get wolf, keep going up, then take the passage with the braking bridges to the left, do the regular run/ jump/jump to get to the other side. then inside the clock there is a big jump that can't be made, but let a medusa head hit you and you will be on the upper side. get to the last stairs of all castlevania games from here. you can reach the top of the broken staircase by jumping on the crows/harpies/i don't remember what were those flying things under the stairs. i've gotten to touch the upper part of the stairs, but it's extremely hard to do on the real game. i think on a re-recording emulator it would be very rewarding to get up there so early in the game, and it IS possible. i think will take 5 crows to be able to get high enough. need to walk left to gather crows, then go back to the right to bring them under the broken stairs. then start crow-climbing.

oh crap, i just tested on a real nes with a real game and damn! the second player doesn't respond!!! that sucks! the only thing i can say is: that level was not MADE for 2 players, i mean, wich one should the screen follow? it's like level 10, where player 2 was left behind at some point. but there was not a killing wheel following them at level 10... if the player got behind on level 11 there wouldn't be a way for the game to tell if he was on collision with the wheel or not. so they simply blocked player 2 wich is pretty crappy. it's one the biggest flaws i've seen in a game, and it's bad that it's on battletoads... oh well...

you're right, it's an empty zip! bisqwit to the rescue plz!!! - btw, thanx for the "pretty impressive" there :) - i really doubt the real game doesn't allow 2 players in the level 11, it is just a famtasia problem. my real game is pirate and has a cheat that allows you to get 5 lives anytime (UP+start), so i'll test it later when i have time.

the first 3 levels will be slower, i was making a movie and i got the elbow at level 3, but unfortunately it was not recording, i have level 1 and 2 made. i used punches whenever i had 2 people on same position, and i killed as fast as possible on the other situations. that way i optimized the punches usage, and i hope the elbow attack will make up for that on the fight with the 2 abobos and everything else.

nes games are simpler, and are more "pixel based", i don't think playstation movies should be done same way. it will take a lot of skill to make good psx movies as you will have to really know how to play the game.
