I only see 2 of that kind here, and even that is only if I unleash my imagination. Criticism is not just normal, it's necessary to help making a good run. But there's nothing intentionally aggressive in this thread.

Can you instead explain what the "cub" branch means, gameplay-wise, and how is it different from what you expected to get accepted instead of it?

What saddens me so much is that after DEVELOPING all imaginable kinds of neat tools and workflows, everything was ruined by some bloodless bad luck completely.

Corey got it to sync as well, it depends on the plugin, and even on the resolution, probably on something more though.

Insulting TASers for whatever reason is absolutely unacceptable.

Spikestuff, you're not such a close friend of The8bitbeast's to pretend that such an insult has no reason to be taken seriously. Even if you were basically thinking aloud, The8bitbeast saw that compellation and, in turn, had no reason not to get offended. Over the years, you've been giving zero fucks about manners (regardless of whether you had valid reasons to complain or not), and that has been tolerated only because you contribute a lot. But The8bitbeast contributes too! This whole site exists to be a home for TASers. Apologize please.

Judging by their behavior in the recent years, they'd rather try to sue him at least.

If I judge it, and you couldn't publish it for some reason, then it'll remain in the queue for half a year, as we don't have much people who can encode it properly. If you're ready, I will accept it.

FFmpegSource2() also fixes the bug, but gives some odd error about AudioDub() of logo. At least now we know that it only should be able to split.

Look what I found though http://retroshift.wikidot.com/local--files/scripts/metroidlua.zip (I tried to fix your script and this game's RAM is a complete mess)

It's not virtualdub, I see the broken frame in the 512kb test (only encoded the relevant segment).

What if you losslessly reencode it in x264? Otherwise, I wonder if the bug isn't there if you just go ahead and run primary encoding.

Does this give any insight? http://datacrystal.romhacking.net/wiki/Metroid:RAM_map http://tasvideos.org/ReverseEngineering.html#Objects From how it sounds, you just need camera position and to subtract it from enemy positions.

Oh man. I have no idea what it is, and I can't really debug mame, since it wants gdb. I guess you'll have to simply delete those frames? Well, I actually could debug it since I have the VS symbols, but I dunno what I'll be looking for here.

I’ve left this submission branchless because it should be considered pure any%. I fundamentally disagree with “Any%” including implied restrictions.
We don't use branches to indicate whether a run is any% or not. We use them to classify its contents based on its goals. We tried tying any% and branchless, and it didn't work at all, resulting in overall chaos in branch names, so we stopped and switched to a simpler and saner system, explained here: Post #373887
TASVideoAgent wrote:
If it must have a branch name for some reason, it absolutely cannot be called “item glitch”. This is because I plan to TAS Any% (No Major Skips) next which is the equivalent of the Any% (No item glitch) from the RTA community. My Any% (No major skips) TAS will not do the gate clip glitch, which means it can’t skip any bosses. This is why I call it no major skips rather than no item glitch and also why this TAS cannot be called “Item Glitch”. My choice for the branch is simply any% but otherwise it could be called something like Any% (major skips).
All of our "Major skip glitch" runs use major skips, and all of our "Forgoes major skip glitch" avoid them, so it's preferable not to repeat the class in the branch here, because of the same reason why we moved away from just "glitched" - it's not descriptive at all. People prefer to know what kind of glitch is used or avoided (if applicable). So if it can be called "game end glitch", "warp glitch" or "SRAM glitch", we use those, otherwise we invent a new name. Note that "warp glitch" is for any setup that lets you skip major parts of the game, but not right to the ending, and not via SRAM abuse. In any case, this should be discussed.
