the only place you should be downloading FCEUX from is http://fceux.com Anyone else who hosts it, well, who knows what they are hosting. As for your bug. Which game? Is it a specific .sav file or ANY .sav file created for that game? Is it your current folders? What if you download a fresh copy and put into a new folder? Is your rom in the same folder as fceux.exe? Also, is this the Windows version?

Well, the obvious first step would be to use the latest version (2.1.4a at the time of this post) and see if it still happens.

I'd would head straight to the nearest gas station and buy a lotto ticket. After that, I would use the winnings to afford to sit in my room and become the most prolific console speedrunner ever! ;)

I didn't think a pinball TAS would be that interesting. It started off fairly tame, but as more balls entered the picture it sure got a lot more entertaining. I was entertained, thanks for making this TAS :) Yes vote.

I still have to wait for the electricity on the way back either way. If you notice I do build up speed on the 2nd wait.

That's no longer true! I've done a lot of work on supporting that. I think SNES9X still lacks it, and possibly VBA. Everything else should be good to go.

Moozooh is right in that you need to insert coin then press select. However, he is using the SDL version. It should have a menu but insert coin may not be one of the choices. It is a default hotkey of some kind but unfortunately I don't know how the SDL version maps it. But the game works even on both the SDL and Win32 versions of FCEUX. Also, if it worked in FCEU that doesn't mean it works in FCEUX. FCEUX is indeed an "advancement" of FCEU but a lot of core things have changed, and there maybe obscure regressions. Obviously these regression are something we want to know about.

So your restrictions are to take away everything that made the published TAS interesting? Watching you walk under ledge after ledge that could easily be damage boosted on to is rather painful. 13 minutes of walking and climbing stairs ftw Sorry, but that's a big no vote from me.

I think that the idea is: "Want to see a TAS of an arcade game? Check this one." It's not so much about the quality compared to the best TASes. It's about presenting a variety of TASes for different platforms. Remember, once again, that the star is not a measurement of quality. It's a suggestion for newcomers.
However, we do want to suggest top quality runs to newcomers. However, I do agree with your point. As far as _should_ we have an aracade star, I think the answer is an obvious yes. Either TMNT or Simpsons is a quality movie to show off. Its good enough for a star, even if there is some future run that shows it off better. When that day comes maybe it gets the Simpson's or TMNT's star.

Mitjitsu, I think you are underestimating the difficulty increase that happens with every player added to the equation. But regardless of that, it isn't really about that. Its about the fact that 4 players at once is more inhuman. Think of TAS value as how impressive it would be if some Chuck Norris meats the Terminator played a video game. Or even more simply, just look at it as more "wow" than 3 players, or 2 players, or 1 player. I think a 4-player movie is exactly the kind of wow factor that is immediately accessible to the a general audience.

I think that the recent Simpsons publication should take the Arcade TMNT star. My reasoning was stated here.

Nitrogenesis is thinking the same thing as I. While TMNT was a great start worthy game, I think this is even more so. Both are two very big name arcade games but simpsons takes the great things about TMNT and turns it up a notch. More importantly though, this is the first 4-player TAS to actually need all 4 players and thus shows 4 player action better than its predecessors. In NES Nightmare on Elm Street 4 player for instance, most of the time it is obvious that just 2 players would be optimal and the other 2 basically just lag up the game without contributing anything useful. In TMNT, the 4th turtle is often just rolling around since he has nothing to do on screen. In simpsons, all 4 players are utilizes to save time constantly throughout the movie; showing the true power of 4 player teamwork.

This feature has all ready been done with a "View publication" link that is in all movie modules.

A minor crash bug: If FCEUX has a deleted movie in the "recent movies" tab and you try to play this movie file, FCEUX crashes. For comparison, if you try to open a deleted memory watch file in the "recent" list in memory watcher, it simply displays a "file not found, remove from list?" message. Perhaps the same error message for the recent movies list could work.
This is already fixed in the 2.1.5 interim version.

I agree snake would be a neat TAS. I remember back in the day beating snake on my cell phone. I beating it I mean I filled the entire screen. One of the biggest achievements in my life. A TAS that aims for fastest time could still be cool, fill up the screen, play on the fastest setting, and manipulate luck to get apples in favorable places.

Whomever is encoding FCEUX runs, you should not be using that option anyway! We strive for authenticity in our official encodes, and the NES can't handle more than 8 sprites per scanline.

The differences in gameplay are quit striking between this and the NES TAS The NES TAS has 2 players instead of 4 making for a very different experience. But most importantly the NES one has the teleporting glitch which of course makes for a totally different run. If this were a 2 player movie and the NES one didn't have that glitch, then there might be some debate for an obsoletion.

The built in bias for "staff" and players is now removed. Everyone's votes are equal Except for rare exceptions like Neofix <_< The built in weight was actually implemented by Bisqwit, but I have no idea when as it was never mentioned or documented. I found out about it after taking over the site. I personally would have never approved such a weight, thanks to grunt for taking the time to remove it from the site code.

I 3rd the nomination of TMNT 4-player. (And wow, we've had a lot of star quality movies lately). We need an Arcade Star, and this is the first movie to deserve one. It is a definitive game for the platform, and has a large "wow" factor being 4 players. We also need a 4-player imo as that is something that is obviously really impressive to first time viewers (and vets like me!). So this movie counts as 2 star slots, that's a no brainer.

First to vote yes. Only our 2nd 4-player movie ever, but the most epic one so far. Congrats.
