Commando seems to be similar to the NES one but not the same levels. As for Pac-man, I don't know, other than the novelty of it being Atari.

As of this post, BizHawk has an (unreleased) Atari 7800 core. My preliminary tests show that it has good sync and great emulation quality. So I figured now is a good time to start a wish list. Looking through the games, I'm not so sure what if any would make good TASes, but here some ones I noticed: Commando (don't know how long it is but seems decent) Dark Chambers (Gauntlet wannabe, 26 floors, but features 2 players at once) Mario Bros (inferior port compared to the NES one) MS Pac Man

mrgrunz, while your logic sound, you are off base in your interpretation. The words you you quoted do not prohibit anyone from uploading their work to their personal youtube channel, nor does it prohibit you from promoting your work as you see fit (including submitting it to any other site). What it does say is that we will not be linking that upload on tasvideos.

I've been bested! Good job man, glad to see someone else in on the frame war :) (No vote for entertainment of course, I do think TASes of this game are Vault material only)

Haven't both Snes9x and ZSNES become deprecated?
Yes, but that's hardly a point here. We have threads for these emulators, and a SNES subforum is certainly the most logical place to put this content. Plus, there is still relevant discussion to be had (people are still using snes9x for instance, and encoders are always re-encoding things).

Perhaps the ROM would be of the calculator?
And where do you propose we find it? By the way, this is not a ROM link request. I just want to know any recommended sites for finding the "calculator ROM".
What's search engine?
I prefer Google, but that isn't the point!
You are asking things that are against the rules for people to answer, and treading dangerously close to ban territory, so I suggest you stop with this. To use TI-83 in BizHawk you open the ROM, same as you would for a game.

You are trying to find hypocrisy by linking an example of the "old system" vs the new one. In this new system, the Moon category is not restricted on category choice. The acceptance of this movie is a precedent setting example of this. However, the Moon requirement demands audience approval. So yeah, if there is 50 categories for SM because the audience loves every one of them, fine, they get published. If the audience does not like them, they don't. That probably means popular games get more categories. To be clear, if you take issue with that, then you are taking issue with the submission viewing audience, not the judges decisions.

Why is this movie only 14 frames faster than your rejected submission that I posted a WIP of that contained a 59 frame improvement.

1) TI-83 emulation is very good 2) The serial link cable isn't emulated, other than programming the game yourself there is no way to load a game. Thus it only emulates the calculator. The reason there are no TI-83 TASes is because it doesn't run any games. Now, if you want to TAS your math homework, that's certainly possible.

Wow! The improvements in this movie are brilliant ideas. The entertainment choices were amazing. Thank you for this movie, I very much enjoyed watching it.

Playback your movie. At the point where you want to resume, make a savestate. Set the emulator to read+write mode. Load the savestate you just made. (Also, I moved your topic to the newcomer forum, since this is a great question to be answered for newcomers)

^what’s with the broken obsolation in that publication?
I think the idea is that it's outdated and the goal is out of step with the site's goals now, so it obsoletes itself to remove it from the list of currently published movies.
Well, that is exactly the thinking, it is obsolete without an obsoletor. So I was screwing around to see what the site would do if I set it to obsolete itself. Then I forgot to set it back <_< As to why it is a moon, it is because it does not fit the Vault. But then again, it doesn't fit Moons either. It just doesn't fit in with the site rules of today, but there isn't a better designation than moon.

I tried directly with 1.3 before trying 1.2 The prereqs didn't help was it for XP or 7, same crash. As i'm on a 3g connection, i lost my morning downloading the whole thing :)
Restart your computer.

To anyone who reads this, this is flat out misinformation. BizHawk, like lsnes, uses the bsnes emulator as its SNES core. bsnes is light years ahead of any snes9x version in terms of accuracy. ---- Edit by FractalFusion: Merged two posts.

Btw, the solution to both Spikestuff and feos' problems were to restart their computers. In case anyone else is experiencing problems with the new release.

I also support "Executes Arbitrary Code", which is rather modest, but that's good, because the shown result (the picture and music) is not as extremely mindblowing as it could be in theory. So, while I think this movie should get a Star, I wouldn't try to oversell it by calling with pathos-filled names like "Total Control" or Matrix-related stuff.
I agree with all of this; including the suggestion of it being a star

Now that ColecoVision games are TASable, I thought I'd start a wishlist for it. When I was testing games in BizHawk I found these as possibly good for TASing Montezuma's Revenge Chuck Norris Galaxian Oil's Well Q-bert II Oil's Well is particularly interesting because it is some very unusual gameplay (and odd subject matter) and looks like solutions to the levels could be really surprising.

BizHawk 1.3.0 Released This release features a new core: ColecoVision, as well as FDS support for NESHawk. In addition, NESHawk is now 20% faster! There's a lot of other fixes, and features, so I recommend reading the full release notes. Windows binary
