For DOS/Windows games I guess you can draw the line at unofficial mods/patches to games, no matter if the game itself is a "homebrew".

This is a known problem with this game, there is nothing you can do to fix it short of rewriting the graphics emulation of PSXjin to be more correct I'm afraid. I'd love to do that, but I have no idea how these things work on the PlayStation. The best help I can give you is to suggest picking another game unless you want to learn how the graphics work in the PlayStation and fix it in PSXjin :(

Very nice run, looks a lot more optimal and is more entertaining than the previous submission. (Sorry Spikestuff) Yes vote.

Of course we did, we even have a re-recording branch of that emulator called lsnes, maintained by Ilari. The topic is here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12325

Could you pull down the quality a bit on those 8-bit encodes? My media PC with 4.8 GHz Dual Core with 4 GB RAM, running nothing but MPC-HC (latest version), cannot render this in real time... :(

Looks very well planned and executed. The music is strangely enchanting. Yes vote.

Unless there are any sensitive details in the bash-script, it could help greatly if it's contents was posted.

Looks like someone is jealous of you, don't know much about dealing with this crap though :( I have not had the time to watch your previous (true) WIP yet, I will hopefully get a chance to do it today.

So once we start using that revision for TASing, someone could obsolete my TAS with a movie where a different RNG removes the need for wasting frames and the character moves a little faster?
I have no idea what exactly that opcode does, I am not a GC/Wii emulation developer nor do I know anything about the systems. Those were just examples of things broken opcodes can cause. I was mainly trying to explain to rog that the opcode that was changed may have affected more games than just PokePark.

He does not know how to fix it, so he disabled it in JIT, just that one opcode, he did not disable all of the JIT.
And that still seems pretty dumb :([/quote] Better to have something work correctly albeit a tad slower than working incorrectly, just because PokePark really shows the opcode is not working it may affect other games in a way that you normally don't notice but is still a faulty behavior. Examples of things I have seen being wrong from bad opcode implementations but didn't really break the game: RNG values - Things got rarer / more common Movement speed - Character moving a tad faster / slower Hitboxes So I do not think it's dumb at all to make sure the opcode works correctly even if it costs speed, it could fix more games than you think, even though in 99% of the cases it is not visible to the human eye. And just because he doesn't know how to fix it in JIT doesn't mean it will never be fixed.

Also, the comments on the newest "master" branch revision say that the old master revisions were "broken" and they prefer this more accurate, "slower" revision. But isn't the new version rog just compiled accurate, or were those coders specifically talking about the emulation of the game it fixes?
The revision is a workaround to avoid fixing the actual problem, which only affects one game. Instead of fixing the JIT, Parlane decided to just switch to interpreter, which is more accurate, but 30x slower. Accuracy is nice and all, but using an interpreter for wii/gc emulation is dumb.
He does not know how to fix it, so he disabled it in JIT, just that one opcode, he did not disable all of the JIT.

Try putting the .sav file in the same folder as the ROM image. Or in the saves folder if you have one of those.

Please add the game product code (example: SLUS-12542) so it will be easier for those that want to play back the movie in an emulator to find the correct dump.

Have you disabled Dual core and Idle skipping? Are you using Audio LLE mode?

Seen levels 7 and 8 now and I liked them a lot, level 8 got really insane after a while. Submitting a game like this you do not want to go for speed, because it's an autoscroller, it will be rejected if you do. With autoscrollers you need to be creative (see adelikat's Gradius TAS). The pacifist limitation is in my opinion a great goal because a lot of times I get a "neener neener, you can't hit me, na-na-na-na-na" feeling. I think this could be enhanced by also not taking a single power-up, because then you will be completing the task severely underpowered which increases difficulty and requires even more insane dodging of bullets. But already in it's current state I would consider submitting the TAS. Though before doing that it could be a good idea to verify Mastania's idea.
