SmashManiac, I already said that this was an improvement upon DeetBoop's run.
Except that DeetBoop's run was more or less rejected for Goal Choice. It is quite clear when reading the comments on it.

It's worth noting that no available emulator faithfully emulates Yoshi's Island completely, not even those based around bsnes. The goal ring loads differently which actually has drastic consequences for bonus skipping.
Did you check the behavior in the latest Accuracy core (actual bsnes, not a rr-derivate)? If it's the same, perhaps you shall inform Byuu (bsnes main developer) of this inaccuracy once he finishes his ROM dumping of the US set?

I think Tompa and Yuzuhara would like a continuance on their A Link To The Past improvement, they're most likely far enough by now to not want to restart.

Anyone tested a recent version of lsnes? If I remember correctly Ilari changed some of the GUI to make it easier to use.

Finally a proper GameBoy (Color) emulator that works with TASing! Excellent work! (Sorry VBA...) Is it on the TODO list to update the bsnes core to v91? While most of the changes since v87 are GUI stuff there has been some minor accuracy improvements if I remember correctly.

At least for plain Genesis games (no Sega CD, no 32x), BIOSes don't do anything like this: the cartridge does all the work. This includes initializing the memory, input devices, graphics and sound initialization and any other supported peripherals. So beware hasty generalizations.
Then that is different from every console I ever looked at, and it's more of an exception to the rule than a generalization.

Do we count the BIOS as a part of the game? I know the Genesis, Sega CD, PSX, PS2, GC all have BIOS "intros" But, I don't think anyone counts them, except for RTA(?) About the early Sega consoles BIOS http://segaretro.org/BIOS

The problem is that most emulators ignore the BIOS by initializing the variables of the emulator to the state it would be in after the BIOS execution. Personally I consider this an inaccuracy and a hack as this is not how the hardware behaves.

The PS3 controllers comes with a built in Lithium battery, if it stops charging you can currently send the controller to Sony for a free battery replacement given that you have an original controller.

I don't understood what you're saying x) What does it mean? My run is faster, isn't it? And today I've the time to finish it =) Then, let's go! EDIT : Done! How can I change the movie file please? And I'm still 15s faster at the end of the game :p
You can upload the movie file here: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/ Then post a link to it in this topic asking a moderator to update your submission.

Plok, done almost 4 minutes faster.
I check it again and I figured out that previous run's record was in 31:15.55, and you did it in 29:00.38. Isn't that approximately 2 minutes improvement? (just trying to make sure)
Read the author comments about completing the credits (old movie did not).

What's up with the camera stuttering? Other than that this was highly enjoyable, I didn't think this game could be finished that fast. Yes vote.

I think you choose the wrong word War, I would say he's giving a pose.
I did not, Crash is going to start a spin, but that exact frame makes it look like he is about to fall into a seizure, which I think is rather funny. (I did not intend to offend anyone suffering from epilepsy here, I am truly sorry if I did)

btw, if i decide to do another run of this, would it be acceptable to do a maximum score run (all platinum medals?) Because in order to do that, you need to start with a save state that has beaten the game on 00 Agent.
As long as you provide a verification movie that generates this save it's fine (the verification movie does not need to optimized)

For the lock needing the decryptor: Is it possible that the code changes as you run it? Try finding the memory address that turns to 1781 when the decryptor is done, then look at it before you use the decryptor. Since Dolphin does not have RAM Search yet you need to use MHS, I think there is a topic in the Dolpin section on how to use it with the emulator. It should also be possible to use MHS to find out where the sniper rifle really is aiming when you're zoomed out, to eliminate the need of the scope. (It adds entertainment to aim at nothing and shooting an enemy somewhere else) It also appears that you miss a lot of shots (alternatively not hitting optimally) with the automatic weapons. A lot of entertainment in FPS TASes comes from using as few bullets as possible to eliminate the necessary enemies. (This does not include using bullets to write silly stuff on walls for entertainment during downtime) I will also echo the previous comments regarding you just staring at the direction the next enemy will come from, here you can do many things, for example while using the Sentinel turret on Drakes island: Look at the scenery, turn around, shoot someone just before it's too late, then resume looking at the scenery like nothing happened. I am sure this is a stupid question, but I have to ask: Did you uncheck "Read-Only mode" when you opened the movie with "Play Movie"?
