Yes and no. It aims for speed BUT it plays with elements of gameplay to offer something new (see, that's a big but, it's even in caps). So, no, it's not a playaround, but it can be compared with. Dunno if I'm really clear. I need to drink more.

I really like these kind of TAS, which aren't aimed for "finishing the game THE FASTEST, WHATEVER IT TAKES!1!!". Like the Mario 3 playaround run, which is among my favorites runs ever. This run is fun to watch, entertaining and very-well made. Congratulations, sir.

I must say, I was afraid it would look too much like an "old M64 run", though the game in itself is very different (come on, who wants to play at Yoshi?). It's fresh, it's fun, it's fine.

Ok, it worked, even with v13, after some tries. Very good run, I really prefer this one to the glitched one. So much entertainment, it's a treat to the eyes.

I get a desynch around 165000 frames, but I'm using snes9x-1.43+v13, so that's maybe why. Going to try with a more recent one.

Quick question: Why talking to the rebel girl in the south town of the Empire if you're going to walk past the guard behind the trees anyway? Or is taking to her a switch to activate? Anyway, still watching it. This is fabulous. Can't tell how much I love commentaries explaining what tricks are going on (88 MPH anyone? haha).

Interesting game, I didn't know this one, and it's pretty good. But as Derakon said, it's pretty dull. The TAS is well-made, but the game is a poor choice. I'll vote meh on this.

Impressive... Very impressive... TASvideos taught you well, and you're now a true TASer. Yes vote of course.

Same comment for Kaizo Mario: Yes it provides entertainment, but the main objective of such a game is the agony you endure playing it for real. Thus, I don't think it's a very good choice for TASing, though it's still OK. I'll give it a Meh.

Very neat, I didn't know this game was so fast. This game looks weird compared to X1/X2/X3. Never tried it, maybe someday.

It must have been 1995 or 96, we downloaded a Gameboy emulator and a couple of ROMs for my Performa 5200, back then (RTC connection with our 19k modem!). First time I played a Final Fantasy was on this (Final Fantasy Legend 3, well now I know it's just SaGa 3). I remember playing Link's Awakening some monthes after that, and Mario Land 3 / Wario. SNES emulation came way later, as it didn't play well on my old Mac. Didn't think of testing Nes emulation back then, I should have tried.

That wasn't impressive. That was MIND-BLOWING. Wow. Just wow. This is amazing. I don't want to know how much time you spent on this run. And you even took time to draw things using players input. You sir, are a true TAS hero.

Hardly understandable, yet strangely entertaining to me. Weird alchemy, anyway, I voted yes, but it lacks shooting the credits.

Great improvements, I'm looking forward to see more wings pop out of nowhere to finish stages.

Concerning the hack: Of course Kaizo and its sequel here are very popular SMW hacks. I remember watching the "Making my friend play through my own Mario (Super Mario World) hack" videos a lot, and laughing as hell every 5 seconds or so. The game itself is meant to be played for real, as the level design is made to force the players to do cruel mistakes. Therefore, a TAS of this hack is interesting, but also kills the whole purpose of the hack, aka frustration and cruelty (read "trolling"). Concerning the TAS here: It's well made, I don't remember seeing this glitch which allows Mario to jump anywhere (in the rope-based stage). That was quiet refreshing for itself. As stated above, though, it kills the main amusement of the hack. Still, I find this worth publishing, not only because of the popularity and history of the hack, but also because it was technically good, and entertaining enough. Isn't that what we all seek?

I'm convinced that the cake was a lie all long. I'm still amazed that more than 10 frames could be saved compared to older movies. Nowadays, a M64 run always sounds like a frame war to me. Glad to see I'm wrong. Anyway, that was great. As every time. Loved it. And we're getting closer of the 5 minutes barrier. Soon!

This glitch for skipping levels is amazing. As the rest of the run. Oh how I love this game, and how I enjoy this!

This way to finish the last boss was... unexpected. And really cool. That's amazing. I really enjoyed watching it, being myself an old fan of Seiken Densetsu 3. Good to see the game raped. But damn, that's really violent fights on these poor bosses which can't do anything.

Wait, so Ash doesn't leave his room to become a Pokémon Master? THIS WAS A VIDEO GAME WITHIN A VIDEO GAME ALL ALONG! Anyway, always great to see games borders turned to dust a bit more each time.

This must be on everyone's list of "most awaited TAS". Can't wait for an encode.
