Should probably make a post on this since I did make a comment of it on IRC. "No." - YouTube 4k60fps was their main focus (since of the outcry) but anything higher is still borked.

This is especially important for the judge who can actually go into it and verify your movie.

Unfortunately this TAS lands itself with the same issues as maglevtrain's submission from April 2017. If you push for an "all levels" (RTA category naming) or a "100%" your movie will have a chance on being accepted.

That's Nvidia's GeForce Experience kicking in. Hitting Alt+Z will bring you up the menu (hopefully) then select the cogwheel. If it doesn't go to your taskbar and rightclick Nvidia's icon select "GeForce Experience" select the cogwheel in the top right and settings in the "in-game overlay" tab. If you want to keep the features. Select "HUD Layout" and go through the four selections and select "Off" and you should be all good. If you don't want the features do the taskbar menu and when you reach the bit for "In-Game Overlay" just disable it from menu.

That's not an answer and is in fact dodging the other points about this TAS. Please answer them instead of just going for the top one that's there. These are concerns and queries about your TAS that you've made.

Adjusting the Sound Volume from 44 to 59 is really unnecessary. I need a character choice explanation of the benefits of using the character Yuri over the other 4 characters. How much damage does a "bullet" do compared to a slash and the differences between the 5 characters. Would having a second player be more beneficial in this TAS especially towards lag management? You're missing initial shots during the downhill skiing section at points making it not look clean. And I am accepting the fact that the character has a burst shot on these sections compared to on ground. This is especially important during the boss on this section where shots are missing them since you decided to stay directly below them rather than at a distance to cover more ground when he moves. During the Underground Mines section of the boss you're shooting at both of the gunners instead of focusing all attention on the big skull. Why? During the boss on the plane you demonstrated double attacks whilst mid air but decided not doing that at points. Why? It attacks the top character and if managed correctly you would've hit all 3 of them.

You're comparing Apples to Oranges there. VBA's colours were actually screwed around with in the past. There was an old Pokemon movie that was published with the more vivid option compared to the standard default VBA. The screenshot also used the vivid and was later changed to VBA's default pallet.

Bios isn't a factor unless it's related to RNG. And it's doubled as not a factor if related to "cause it's faster at booting the bios". There are values that are comparable that has an In-Game/Stage time of sorts and there's also the manual method of comparing each stage directly. Use the recommended unless you know something with your game. The "5.0" Bios aka the PlayStation 3's version of that bios is known to not be the best when performed on an actual console sidebyside to a PS1 or PS2. I would personally stay clear from that and stick to the original hardware between 1994 and 2000. Also your reasoning cause it does gameplay faster (see discord) a fun fact is that the SCPH100x versions are technically the fastest at booting into games and running them. However, that's also the case on why it's not the recommended. I want to see a judge respond to this to, but I'm placing the opposite side for clarity.

That's not a response I expected especially when it is concerns to your TAS but with that being written the input is definitely not optimal (I'm ignoring the naming case). I need to make this note to everyone. The factor of the dipswitch is only related to the qualifying time. Not how the input is affected by it with that being written and noted. Your time on the 100m sprint is 5"73. My time is 5"68. For me I had to use libretro's core in BizHawk in order to get a result for myself as I'm unable to TAS anything far with MAME-rr and I'm fine with waiting. But I'm still able to show that there is a problem with your input and luckily enough I'm also provide input that syncs (for today's core). Note: I do not recommend TASing with any of the libretro cores within Hawk unless it's for experimental usage as I've demonstrated here. Edit: Your record breaking Long Jump of 10.78m was improvable. Your time on the 400m Relay is 30"70. My time is 29"76. I want to also take the time to point out that the AI got off the starting blocks before you did in your TAS. Here's a file that syncs both the longest Long Jump and the Faster 400m Relay (and the 100m sprint). This is the last event I'm touching as I don't want to deal with Skeet Shooting and this method of TASing on something very experimental.

I'm going to assume that this is the encode: Link to video Unfortunately this TAS is not a quality hack in comparison to: [1336] NES Extra Mario Bros. by HappyLee in 19:24.68 and [2627] NES Hard Relay Mario by HappyLee in 08:14.95 If you did not mean for submission I do suggest uploading it to the User Files. An IPS file to the hack would be nice to have as well.

Just to note it. There has been an Upstream Update request for Cygne as the core has been updated over the long course since WonderSwan has been in Hawk. So there might be improvements to the Core that might help this case... maybe.

Current Genesis: [1140] Genesis Sunset Riders "2 players" by zggzdydp in 10:00.47 Available SNES Submission: #2323: arykado's SNES Sunset Riders in 18:55.52 It appears to be more detailed compared to the SNES counterpart. Also this video would be more appropriate as it compares SNES to Gens not SNES to Arcade: Link to video SNES is apparently more in-line to a true Arcade port whereas the Genesis version apparently isn't. Genesis has cut levels in its version.

Oh God someone's has gone and actually done it. AND IT ISN'T EVEN APRIL FOOLS Here's an entire section about this in BootlegGames. Unfortunately for you this game has 5 stages if I'm not mistaken. And there could be arguments to never get this published due to what could be the controversial image. I also want to point out this was done on the snes9x core not the recommended BSNES core. And for anyone about to ask about language selection (and giving an explanation). Selecting Chinese is faster at loading the intro compared to Japanese/English. Speaking of which your input isn't optimal. You can switch between X/B/A/Y whilst you stuck on A after every lag frame instead of changing it to advance quicker. This is just a heavy No vote. --- Edit: Done. 2117 frames. (No one provide an encode) Relevant Addresses: 0x000ED4 and 0x000ED4: Tracker for 30 required kills. (one's a total the other is a tracker that resets) 0x000701: Deng Xiaoping's health. There's also an invincibility item (syringe) that shows up in the game probably with appropriate timing and such you can probably bang it down further, but I'd rather just deal out this somewhat sloppy optimal TAS instead. Deng Xiaoping is taken down in 164 frames (00:02.73 seconds) compared to your 7.15. --- Edit 2: Just realized I could've just dumped the submission from 2012 here instead of working on one: #3457: mlw7's SNES Hong Kong 97 in 00:38.98.

Well that method of (not) attack(ing) would be useful in the more dire situations for a pacifist TAS. Nice one N?K.

The author has changed the branch and a few words to "no killing" from "pacifist/m". There has been points added in for 4-1 (seems to be a typo for 4-3) and 5-1, also known as feos' points. The point you made for 5-1 can be disagreed with as you're scaling with no enemies present at that point, it doesn't clear up the up-ahead aspect. For 4-3 on the other hand. It's something that can be looked into with health management. I do want something cleared up and that's how you set out to fight the bosses compared to Aglar's TAS.

I do have a temp encode coming in if the author has no encode. This is a well executed superhuman TAS that unfortunately I watched back at double the speed due to how slow the game is. I want to give you congrats on doing this and playing so well through this entire game but unfortunately for entertainment I'm giving this a Meh. Link to video

Despite that, the comments in my own YouTube channel for Castlevania are largely positive.
Your YouTube channel might be fine with how the Castlevania run was presented but on TASVideos or on GDQ you need to see what they're talking about to round it off. You cannot stay in a single circle when there's another 2 waiting for you to see them and to reflect on their comments as well. Your own channel will usually be more supportive to you and that's a given and that's usually a positive to keep on persevering but as people have pointed out in both the forums and mainly the GDQ upload it's not best to wrap around yourself around that. Yes, you can have the one or two comments going about the commentary compared to the vast majority but on the official hub for GDQ they can and do have a different story to your own account. This is the importance of compare and contrast. If you're only listening to a single hub, it's not the best indicator. Even Reddit won't be the perfect round off as even there is split to different sections.

Please avoid using preformatted text on your next edit. I've cleaned it up from having it and formatted to what looked to how it was intended by you.
Edit: I wanted to include a 2nd movie file that performs these couple of inputs as well, but could only upload one file.
You can upload your input here and post it back here: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/my#uploadfile There's a bit of an issue because of this now. We're currently comparing early input end to the full movie with all input. I am curious on how much time is saved when the full input is provided to the party, for reference here's the previous: [2893] GBA Golden Sun by kien_ in 3:12:47.59 But I believe you clock in about 10 minutes faster if I'm not mistaken compared to the previous movie. --- The author being a runner of Golden Sun does have a YouTube and Twitch account so an encode might be provided from them down the line so just wait on the author for their encode and even the possibility of commentary due to being a talkative runner.

I'm curious on how people would react to this as the definition of "pacifist" is that "war and violence isn't justified" and here we have Batman punching thugs at certain points. The only TAS that has shown us pacifism is Contra and that's strictly not dealing any damage to an enemy unless it's a boss. Mainly due to regular enemies being struck down in one shot. Also I believe this TAS is comparable to the non-pacifist TAS at certain points from what I've watched. And there are errors within your TAS that someone might just make a table of unfortunately. --- This is an interesting run for a newcomer to provide and it's well executed but it is questionable with the branch choice as it is dealing damage. And mainly just for fixing input enjoy a cleaner movie file in regards to the odd input being pressed on Player 2's controller which is meant to be ignored by the game.

stares at the capitalization of the second "s" If anyone wants the full-list on what I wrote. PokemonRGBY, PokemonGSC, PokemonRSE, PokemonFRLG, PokemonDPP, PokemonHGSS, PokemonBW, PokemonXY, PokemonORAS, PokemonSM, PokemonLGPE. There was and argument against how Platinum is a different mechanics to Diamond and Pearl so I wrote: PokemonDP, PokemonPlatinum Which is an odd point since well... Red and Green is different to Red and Blue and by extension Yellow and Crystal is different to Gold and Silver. On the "How it should be approached" side, maybe something towards how many Pokemon are within each generation and implemented into the game (Basically the list). Due to the older titles receiving remakes and having a different amount of obtainable Pokemon to the generation which the engine is based on.

I'm a tad confused by directions chosen in this TAS. In the Long Jump you decided to get record then fail the other two times but in Archery you get the record but instead of shot wasting you repeated the record score. This might be due to lack of knowledge of how the game operates but it's an oddity to me that I want explained if the shots can't be wasted if they always go to the backboard. We also have the "World Record" animation presented 3 times in Archery due to this. In High Jump you hit record but is it the highest possible score as I'm going off the assumption everything else was highest possible but you went straight for the qualified height in High Jump. I'm also curious if you can select the height you can jump over in this event. The TAS feels like a blend of mixmatching a few elements that have been done in other Olympic/Track & Field TASes. I don't know how to feel about it so I'm just abstaining my vote.

One of these issues seems to be partially resolved and the other one only affects me (unless someone does the same thing I do). Any video that was uploaded and publicized between 12pm-UTC to about 2am-UTC will only appear on the subscription feed and not the user's Uploaded Section. To clarify, it would appear for a brief moment within the upload section for a few hours before somehow disappearing. The recent publication of Violent Storm was fortunate to dodge this bullet being published before this error occoured. This might not classify as an "error report" but I do want to remind people of the great "fun" back here where videos were up and deleted on YouTube's end and there is a possibility it can come back around to that. To give some context if you want to see an example later down the line if it gets completely fixed. YouTube channel DigitalFoundry uploaded a video showcasing performance of Resident Evil 2 (2019) on all platforms. They're planning 3 videos for the game's release and currently 2 parts are out. However, only one can be selectable if you're not subscribed to them and using the uploads tab. Update: That's been fixed: https://twitter.com/TeamYouTube/status/1089305583314849792 And for the one that only affects me (unless someone does the same thing I do): 1/2 weeks ago, 4k videos had a brief moment where it wouldn't process out correctly until YouTube fixed that issue on their end. Unfortunately in the same period where 4k broke, 8k has been broken and is still currently broken and videos will not process past this point (I've had this "joy" since the 17th). Edit: Turns out if you're above 4k it's just going to fail. So anything above 4k will just fail. --- Actually since I did mention it I actually want to wrap around back to that since I just rechecked on them.
Spikestuff wrote:
Edit: Welp, I did infact wait. YouTube nuked 'em.
The videos have been un-nuked and they all get the nice presence of being classified as "[Deleted Video]". YouTube's such a great platform.
