Still out of range. It's not enough just being right under the vitamins. The blob needs to be at the end of the cage and will automatically move to the right position after transforming.

Technically you can't finish it in under a minute because you need to get the Jellybeans from underground first. That gives you Lime, the key bean. What you can bypass entirely (as shown in the first speedrun) are the treasures/vitamins. I beat the game in five minutes, but I am sure a more seasoned gamer can do much better. edit: Seriously I doubt you can throw the apple jellybean in there, not that far anyway. He wouldn't even be lined up.
Why would you need to get the lime beans if you can access the King’s room without it? Secondly, you can throw an apple in there and have the blob eat it. I made a demo to show. http://members.shaw.ca/richu/AboyandhisblobGlitch.zip The first throw is to prove that it really is the King’s room, and that the blob can be in the proper position. Observe as the blob heads to the left and is stopped once he reaches the left boundaries of the cage, just as he would be if you normal enter through the door. This is also the position the blob must in to properly utilize the jack. The next set of throws gets the blob to turn into a jack in the room. The throw is short of the correct position, and like I said, it would take a longer throw to finish the game in under a min. If you get this method to work though, there would be no need to get the lime beans or run several screens to the right. Maybe if someone did more testing, a way can eventually be found.

To the left of the first screen is the King's room. The way the trick works is that when you run towards the left side, you time the releasing of the bean so that it first appears past the barrier that prevents you from entering the room in the first place. The camera view follows the bean into the room and that's why you can see it. Just make sure you don't make any movements afterwards with the boy, or the camera will go back to the boy again. If you throw a ketchup bean in there, it does put the blob into the king's room. The problem is, when the blob is in the correct position under the basket, he is out of your throwing range. If you can find a way to throw a bean a least half a screen's length, then you can finish the game in under a min.

I'd like to try online SNES. I'd rather play games right now than work. If you guys want to play some zbattle today, we can meet in irc. I also remember this site where you can play games like Marvel vs Street Fighter online, anyone know if it's still around? It was pretty fun.

It didn't work for me, either.
Did you guys use PRG0? I tried it on PRG1 and wasn't able to do it either. Maybe try it on Zelda no Densetsu? When you enter Ganon's room, you only get 1 frame of control before Link raises the triforce, so the potion must be used then I'm guessing. Since it didn't work for either of us, it might mean that there are other conditions required. TSA, when you did it, what conditions were present? Did you already have the silver arrows? How many HC did you have, and how many were empty when you entered the room? Did you use the Red or Blue potion to kill him? Did you make any control movements during the refill (like up+down or 2nd controller?) Do you remember anything out of the ordinary?

Dragonball Z. Good old days. I grew up with this anime, so it's nostalgic for me.
So true. People are way to hard on DBZ. I mean, if you take any of your favorite shows from the past and watched it right now, the nostalgia factor alone would be great enough to overlook any of the show's obvious flaws. Reminisce.

Oh, and another good place to test would be L7 hungry Goriya. Then you could skip the bait.

It would seem to be the only way to finish the game swordless. I actually haven't had the chance to test it out on Ganon myself, but I do know for a fact that using the potion at certain times can cause strange effects. For example, touching a triforce piece and using the potion at the same time freezes the game. I've also tried using it to steal from the shops and in conjunction with the recorder, but nothing strange happens. Other places it should be tested on is Ganon, L9 entrance, Gohma, Old man, etc. It should also be tested on the different rom versions as well. Another thing I've been trying to do is buying stuff without paying by up+A, save, power-off, but apparently the game saves your debts as well, and you continue to lose money when you regain control. Worth a shot though :) . Just trying out some ideas. Ramzi, I don't think the candle boosting would be worth it. The few extra pushes don't seem to make up for the time switching items and loosing the sword beam for fights. Plus with 6 HC (if you get 6) you can only use it 11 times at most. Only 5 times if you up+A. Interesting thought though.

Um...Red Potion??
Wasn't it you who mentioned killing Ganon after refilling. Well anyways, if you manage to kill Ganon with the Red Potion, then that means you can just skip getting the silver arrows, and thats where the whole minute would come from. If you could also find a way to kill Gohma without arrows, then you can skip getting both the arrows and the bow, which would be another minute.

Ok, I googled boobahs, and I have yet to figure out what those things are, what the show is about, and how it can compare to DBZ.

but you got to admit some of Funimations music they put in dbz was really good. My favorite part was when SS2Gohan was fighting the cell juniors.
I have both versions of that episode, and the original definitely sounded better. What really bugged was Gohan's SSJ2 transformation. That was one of the most memorable moments in anime, not to mention the greatest scream ever recorded, and they didn't even bother with bgm? The music Funi made for the show doesn't even come close to the original music. I still watch it if its on tv sometimes though. Its still DBZ.

Here's my two-player WIP: http://members.shaw.ca/richu/RCR.zip . I'm turning this run over to GSGold or someone else that has the time and the drive to finish. I've been working on redoing Little Nemo, and it's taking me forever.

I recorded Gutsman run over the Fireman run. If you want to see the Fireman run, you can just recreate it yourself. http://members.shaw.ca/richu/rockmanGUTSMAN.zip

Well, DBZ used to be my favorite back while it was still first airing in Japan. I have every single ep/movie/special. It was so unreal, there was nothing like it at the time (and even to this day). But, no, I agree that Funi did ruin it. Just everything. Don’t say I’m jumping on the wagon either, cause I used to be the biggest DBZ fan, and if you’ve watched the whole thing unedited with the original Japanese voices and bgm, then watched Funi’s, you’d be shaking your head in disappointment too. Most people bash the show because they watched Funi’s prior to the original. I’d be bashing it too if that were the case. Still, DBZ is one of the most popular shounens ever, and long-running shounens is what makes anime so great IMO. Worlds of action, adventure, epic storylines, awesome fights, unforgettable characters, the most interesting scenarios, and of course yelling out the name of your special attack before using it >D. But almost every series has its one annoying trait. DBZ has dozen-episode fights (might not be a bad thing), Naruto has the longest flashbacks, One Piece has the most filler eps, UY and Ranma are too repetative, Kenshin has 30 eps of non-manga trash, etc. My favorite series right now, and what I recommend everyone check out, is Hunter x Hunter. I think the series is the perfect length (62 eps + OVAs). It doesn’t drag on over a hundred eps, and it gives you more to watch than 26 ep series, too short IMO. Doesn’t waste time with filler eps either. So many awesome characters too. Gon, Killua, Hisoka, Ryodan. It’s also a lot more scientific than Naruto. Another reason why I like it is because its not such a theme show, like how in One Piece, all the main characters have to be pirates in a water world or in Naruto they’re ninjas in a feudal Japan like setting. Anyone of any occupation can be a hunter as long as they have the skill. The setting is a modern day society, but like the less known side of it. Ugh, I can yap on about anime all day. /me goes to work on timeattack.

Hmm. You might as well just download DdQ then. The segmented speedruns should be just as good as any time attack of the game, and it would spare you of having to watch a FPS with GBA quality.

Yeah, that's the downside to the order. It also makes the other levels harder because of more magnet beam use. It's still faster overall. You can get sub-23 if you really try.

Things have gotten busy again and I don’t have a lot of free time anymore. Plus, I’d like to use the free time I do have for finishing my time attack, so I have to hold off the MM speed runs until then. I did do more tests though, and my conclusion is that Bisqwit’s order is the top tier run. The savestate Elecman run was 13:48, which is at least 11 seconds faster than Gutsman. It also does Elecman first, which is my weakest level in the game. So if you want the best times, practice your runs using Bisqwit’s order. Btw, here’s how to get the magnet beam out. 1. Do the ladder glitch. 2. Once you are on the left side, do a full jump. At the very height of your jump, press right. It should put you on level with the magnet beam. (If it didn’t work, then it wasn’t the height of your jump.) 3. Now tap right then left quickly (or hold right+left, release right, is easier). This allows you to face left without activating the wall glitch. 4. Keep moving slowly to the left, making sure that you are still partially in the wall, until you grab the magnet beam. Then, do a jump to activate the wall glitch and fall back to the bottom of the screen. 5. Tap right then left quickly (or hold right+left, release right) to leave the wall. If you practice it a bit, you will be able to do the whole thing smoothly like in the recording. http://members.shaw.ca/richu/rockmanELEC.zip

Well, for those of you who are still doubting starting with Fireman, I was able to defeat the 6 robots in 14:20 (27 sec faster than Omega's newest run) using the Fireman route, just played much better. I fell into the spikes in Wily 1 though, but using savestates to continue and time the Wily levels seperately, I end up with a time of 23:14. So, the new time I'm aiming for (and you guys should too) is 23:15 or less. As for the top tier route Omega, it is faster, by roughly 9 seconds. Using savestates to perform both routes to their full potentials, Fireman got 14:07 and Gutsman got 13:58. Just note that this is if you successfully perform the the wall and ladder tricks on Fireman and Elecman's stages and defeat Gutsman within 1:45. Still, 9 seconds shouldn't really make any difference over a 23 min run. I say just use whatever order is best for you, unless the times start getting so low that were competing over a second or two, then there's no choice but to use top tier. From what I've learned about everything so far, the human limit should be 22:45~22:30. If you can snatch the magnet beam using the ladder trick without Gutsman, then that might open up a new top tier route. I haven't been able to do it without leaving the wall. Bisqwit, is there a trick to that, or is it just frame by frame timing and accuracy?
